Honestly, sounds like a man who is struggling with his role of cheerleader role player, much like Melo did. DD
This may have more to do with it than people think. Maybe the Clippers aren’t out of the woods yet for the Kawhi cheating scandal.
I would like to have CP3 back, but if he keeps talking he will get blackballed out the league completely in his last year. CP3 needs to chill and wait to be traded.
Same, it could actually go wrong if you include any of the young pieces in trades long term speaking.....
My expectations are for the Rockets to compete with SA and DEN and be behind OKC. I think the FVV question is hard, because while he helps - he also hinders Sheppard’s development. The Rockets are a top 6 team in NBA IMO and can get higher on the list. Short of a couple major injuries, I don’t see Houston getting past OKC, DEN and SA.
I've said it before, Ime's job isn't to develop Sheppard. It's Sheppard's job to develop Sheppard. Ime's job is to win games. The reason the Rockets have lost a number of close games to OKC, Denver, etc. is because they don't execute down the stretch. The Rocket's turnovers are too high. Executing the offense happens to be FVV's best quality. The current Rockets with FVV can absolutely go toe-to-toe with OKC. But don't forget that DEN took OKC to 7 games last season. OKC is deep so they can crush the regular season. But if all the top teams are healthy going into the playoffs, OKC is still the favorite but there is no way I'm conceding the championship to them. As the cliche goes, you still got to play the games.
