Medicare fraud runs into the billions, and sadly it has for decades. Many of the people convicted are doctors and pharmacists. But no one seriously argues that all doctors or all pharmacists are immoral scammers. That would be absurd.

Yet when fraud involves certain ethnicities or groups, some people here seem eager to jump to exactly that kind of broad-brush conclusion. That tells me either they’re being easily misled, or they’re engaging in something much uglier. Neither is defensible.

Other commenters here are conflating unrelated issues. Just because person X is accused of fraud doesn’t mean politician Y is responsible. Serious observers pursue X, not Y, based on the evidence. The fact that some in this thread ignore that basic distinction shows their focus is less on actual fraud and more on scoring political points.

Can we at least agree on one basic principle? All fraud is bad. Especially fraud that drains programs meant to help people who genuinely need them. And especially when those in positions of power exploit the system to enrich themselves, their families, or their associates.

But apparently even that shared baseline is too much to ask. Some seem interested only in condemning certain kinds of fraud while excusing others entirely.

The solution isn’t selective outrage. It’s simple: investigate all fraud and prosecute it consistently. And given how presidential pardon power is being abused to shield convicted offenders, that authority clearly needs serious reform.
