Not so sure, we can finish 3rd, 5th, 6th, and 7th still. Even if we beat Indy, it doesn't guarantee we control our own destiny because of Jacksonville.

Heck, we don't even control who we play as the 5th seed because I'm guessing Baltimore-Pittsburgh will be the SNF game as it is a guaranteed "win and you're in" game.

It would be sort of advantageous if that game is a SNF slobberknocker/pier-6 brawl/donnybrook and then the winner has to turn around and play in the "Texans Invitational" on Saturday morning.

You never know, may give the Texans 4/5 game the Monday Night slot since, the other 4/5 match up will be Carolina/Tampa blown out by a NFC West team.

Sure, but it's just a random throwaway thought in the moment while watching a game...who cares? Broh.

Hearing on Indy's post game show that there is high chance Rivers will not start Sunday.
Curious how Meco will play it. He did one series last year for the starters.

Re-watching the game. Opposing teams should literally blitz CJ every down since Caley has proven he won't ever adapt to it.

Also DeMeco should've challenged the safety. The Chargers receiver didn't get control of the ball until he was in the end-zone. The score would've been 19-10 in the 4th quarter. Funny how all the Chargers fans complaining about the refs never brought this up.

General observation not directed at you, but it’s interesting that almost everyone here has decided that it’s 100% Caley who is “not adapting”. As if an NFL coordinator who worked under McVay and others is not aware of how blitzes work, and the QB/center/players who are in a new system have zero role in anything going on. Like when they review game film as a team, they just fast forward through all the plays where the QB was pressured. One thing has clearly improved throughout the year, and that’s Stroud not taking sacks. It’s almost like someone may have said “if you guys can’t figure out where to be fast enough, just throw it away”. I know that may not be good enough for fans who demand perfection on every play, but it’s actually effective. It’s also possible that a new OL, OC, and offensive system may take longer than one training camp and season to come together.

All this + it's silly to think teams have studied enough to pinpoint the Texans' fatal weakness... but are clueless how to combat counter moves. They're taking the easy throws away *in addition* to blitzing. Opponents are not dumb.

I think (perhaps) too many fans have confused an improved offensive line with a good offensive line. This is not a good offensive line. And it's still a very young/inexperienced offense. You have 4/11 starters who had a combined total of 1 start prior to this year (Ersery, Andrews, Higgins, Marks) - teams can take advantage of that. And this is just Stroud's 13th start in this system and Caley is a first-time play caller.

All of that is a GIANT factor.

A couple of my favorites after skimming this thread are: 1) “We came out on fire with those two big pass plays and then decided to stop doing what was working!”

    2) Literally all year, folks have been screaming about the Texans playing it safe/running out the clock before the half. When they FINALLY attempt to do what everyone has clamored for by being aggressive and it goes horribly wrong, it’s time yet again to fire everyone on the spot.
