He might not be CP3 level steady hand but Westbrook is a HOF and competitor. I think he could help maximize guys like Jabari, Tari, DFS, and even Reed with their shooting and his playmaking when Amen, Sengun, and KD scoring is on the bench. Reed needs to continue to get his reps and development at PG but he can look shaky at times. I think WB would be pretty good off bench
Some of these names sound good in theory to shore up the bench, but ultimately we need a starting caliber guard who can get Sengun/KD the ball late in games under pressure. If they aren't starting caliber, they wouldn't be on the floor in those crucial moments anyway.
Rockets' trade proposal for Anfernee Simons Rockets receive: Anfernee Simons Celtics receive: Fred VanVleet, Jeff Green, two second-round picks(Whitmore) https://clutchpoints.com/nba/housto...l-must-make-2025-26-nba-trade-season-underway Yeah was reading a clutch points article. Simons does make a lot of sense for Houston whats going on now, for this year. Lets Amen get back to his Natural slot. I Would even think Fred would waive his no trade cause to go back to the East and play with the Celtics. Seems like a good trade, because Simons is on a 1 year, and celtics probably wont resign him, yet they need a championship pedgree type pg when Jayson returns back for them, cause fred still has 2 years on his contract.
I’ve watched a lot of Simons over the years living in Portland. While he does have good handles, he’s basically an undersized shooting guard. I think he’s an incredible offensive player, but very bad defensively and not a facilitator. @Codman recently mentioned Dennis Schroeder as a possibility. Someone else mentioned Keon Ellis. I think either King would help us and they seem like realistic possibilities. Any trade proposal that involves Fred this season is not a realistic possibility.
TyTy Washington 20/5/5 in G league. Clock eater, keeps competitors honestly, not a hard get. Stone liked him once before. I think coach would play him. Band-Aid
I think everyone is overlooking the most obvious answer to the problem and the opposing teams would never see it coming. Steven Adams. boom
I'd defin I'd definitely take Trae if it only meant moving on from Fred's contract and a soft asset (future 1st). None of our young guys on the table in that deal.
Money doesn’t work. I don’t want Trae anyway, but it’s next to impossible to envision a trade for him this year.
Are we sure Simons is even better than Aaron Holiday? I don't know about this one. Also regarding Schroder, he just strikes me as a guy who doesn't try and doesn't give a ****. I think he's at that point of his career where he's just trying to collect checks before his time runs out. It's clear he still "has it" when you watch him play international ball but you rarely see that level of effort on the court in NBA games, and it's never consistent. I'm not sure he would be any better than Holiday either.
For all realistic trades, I would not look at any trade candidates that make more than $16-17 million.
