The ball movement is just so much better tonight. I would only trade him for Giannis tho. I really wish we had rookie year Sengun back, he was pure playmaking big then. Now he just does too much & the coaches don’t cater to his strengths. He should never be on the perimeter dribbling like a guard, he’s too turnover prone and clumsy. He needs to be in the post and the mid range area. He should never shoot over 15 shots a game, that’s not his game. He’s not efficient enough to be shooting that damn much. It’s up to Ime to put him in position to succeed.
Or does it prove that the team needs to move the ball every game? What's more likely - the guy who was always wanting to find the open man - would flourish in an offense with more ball movement? Or the guy who always wants to find the open man stops ball movement?
Yes, not have to trade him, but have to use him wisely. Stop letting him do those ridiculous iso starting from the 3pt line, and his attempts every game should be limited to no more than 15. Rockets are pretty good when Sengun is not hunting for big stats
"letting him" They only give him the ball there. He tries every game for a post up and they wave him off lol
Anyway at this point I say trade him for Giannis. I love Sengun he's my favorite player but Rockets fans hate him and Im sick hearing about it.
He becomes a little too cocky and our starting lineup comes to a choke with his ISO’s But he’s our most consistent + best player though and he’s 23!
I dont see how he's cocky I think thats in your head. I do see him trying to break out of his shell and be more confident. Half the "cocky" things he says is just jokes. You calling him cocky is part of why I wish he would be traded. The Rockets arent gonna trade KD and KD isnt a huge superstar like he used to be. They are clearly impatient and half the fanbase hates Sengun, so just trade him. Problem solved eventhough I still dont think we'll win a chip and we will have to rebuild again in 4 years but its where this is headed clearly.
You should listen to him, he’s hella cocky. you don’t take 90% of the last shots on a team with KD if you’re not overconfident
Speaking of "cocky" the assumption that because I dont agree with you I dont "listen" to him has huge ego written all over it. Ive seen maybe 90% of his interviews and I watched his documentaries and I watch post games too. I dont see cocky at all. I guess youre the expert on it. It sounds like you dont like him as a player and you find his confidence cocky.
I think it’s in your head, because you know if you scroll up several lines you see me saying he’s the “ best + most consistent on the team” clearly me saying that over and over this season doesn’t mean anything nor is it a worthy compliment right… Shooting ridiculous last second shots when you have KD on the team is the definition cocky. You do you my guy.
Oh my god STFU you cunt lol You sound like a little b****. You hate Sengun got it. Get off my nuts now.
You’re embarrassing yourself, put down the drink. I don’t even know how to respond to your r****d geriatric ass since I actually like senguin. I seriously don’t know why we opened the door to these idiots joining this site. There used to be more of a vetting process. Clearly the emotions are too much for you. Sober up and reflect later. btw, I have no idea who you are. Nobody is chasing you around like you are to senguin
you don’t need to explain the 33% 3 is the same as 50% 2. The wrong math is that you can’t miraculously take away Sengun’s middies and convert them to 3 pt shots. First of all there are two few of them. He takes 2.6 2pt fga outside of 14 ft. Some of them are just desperation shots and some others cannot be converted to a good 3 pt shots. In best case scenario you are trading 2 fga per game to 3 pt shots, giving you at most something like 1 pt per game. so, they did not win because Sengun did not take middies. The other thing is the middie threat, opens up his game. He can get fouls, drive to the rim or even assist a 3pt shot because the threat is there. So the claim that they won because he shot less inefficient middies is completely unfounded.
LOL im not old youre assuming a lot. I also dont drink. I didnt even come here to argue youre just being a litle b****. You seem to assume everything and just post your idiotic assumptions lol its ridiculous. Also its funny you keep insisting Alperen is cocky but you havent posted one quote or point to one interview where he was. I didnt come here to defend Sengun. I came here to say I want him to be traded for Giannis and youre still hating. Anyway the only way to deal with an ahole is to put them on ignore. So I wont have to worry about your stupid assumptions ever again.
Sengun is a good player that is best used as a hub, not a scorer. This is because there is a better scorer whose name is Kevin Durant and i would rather Kevin takes the midrange shots over Sengun.t The maths is saying if he can limit his fga and facilitate to open shooters he makes the team better. The math is also saying his 2 pt shots are less effective than passing to open team mates for a 3. Because he has team mates who are averaging 40% on 3 and he is averaging around 45% 2pfg. The maths is also saying Durant is better at taking 2s than him and that his shots should all be around the rim. That is where he is most effective. so you either use maths which will in ALL cases will say I am right. Or you dont use maths and go with your gut. btw in your previous post you said 8/24 on 3 is bad efficiency but now you agree with me its as good as 50% on 2s so it seems to me you’re going with your gut rather than looking at actual efficiencies.
8/24 is bad efficiency, it is way below league average. And it is equal to 50% on 2 pt shots. These two are not contradictory. You somehow imagine that you can simply not take the midrange shots. But that's not how basketball works. That's the problem in your argument. The fact that 50% is more than average midrange % doesn't mean anything by itself. And in Sengun's case you are arguing for 2 shots a game, for a total gain of 1 pt, at most. If you give those 2 midranges to Durant, you will gain a whooping average of extra .5 points per game. Ideally you would want to replace your low percentage midrange shots with 3 point shots or shots below the rim. But you can't do it by just saying, 'oh let's give Sengun's midrange shots to Durant and let's have Sengun always shoot near the rim' lol. And if sengun only takes shots around he rim, he would be a much more predictable and much less productive player. Are you aware that everyone is asking sengun to shoot more 3s even if he is not good at it? It is not because he will score more efficiently compared to his shots below he rim, but it will change the geometry of our offense and defenses will have to react to it. And it will help other players. You don't have an understanding of how much of the midrange is by choice and how much of it is necessary and how much of it is forced by the defense and that you need to take some shots even if they are low percentage. If you could trade your low percentage shots to high percentage shots instantly, every team would do it. It is not something you choose most of the time. And you can't shoot them less without giving away something from your offense elsewhere.
