It's so hackneyed these days for sports fans to conflate idiocy and "passion"/effort. You can play hard and bring toughness while still being not-a-moron. There are plenty of successful examples at all tiers... Shane Battier, Kawhi, I think Amen may be developing into such a leader, myriad others who don't get the toughness or effort credit they deserve. Playing dirty and yapping all game does not equal playing hard, nor does that make you some dirty dawg who always steps up. It makes you unstable. I don't think that's the only issue. I think his **** flinging also adds to his instability and is liable to give extra motivation to the other team. He has a penchant for waking sleeping giants.
He trully was, Rocket really thought trading for a dude that actually played for The Seattle Sonics was a good move...... You don't trade for Durant, you sign him if he is available. Adding Durant to The Rockets of last year would have been a good move but trading Dillon and Jalen is r****ded. Phoenix got better we got worse.
Disrespecting Jordan Ott is not the way either, he is better this season than Imer Udoker. Period. With Booker sidelined for a bit.
A couple of seasons ago The Rockets were one of the worst teams in the league. That changes suddenly when they brought in three people. Ime, fvv and Dillon... They traded away Dillon and Fvv is not coming back soon. We are screwd. Trading away identity for the glamour of a past star never works. Never...
As much as i always hated him, he is a fairly useful player for teams who are looking to raise their floor and be decent. He’s completely worthless in the playoffs obviously but for a bad/average regular season team he has some value.
You could argue it wasn’t bringing in Ime, it was getting rid of Silas. Our defense has been putrid over the last 10 games or so. Maybe he is not even a guru on that side of the ball. I agree that FVV and Dillon progressed this team as far as their skill set could, but it was definitely time to bet on the youngsters. It was not time to bet on Ime. The extension was the worst decision Stone has made.
