So, I spent my teenage years in the mid 80's. I was thinking last night about jobs that are in existence now that were not in the 80's. The first 3 I could come with are: Manifestation Coach...... WTF Social Media Influencer. The most ridiculous of any job ever. Grubhub and instacart workers. Think and add on.
In a million years I would never think there was a thing as a "Social Media Influencer", I hate those MF`ers...............people following random people because there getting paid to pimp products. Uber and Lyft drivers still amaze me, more in the fact that everyone I talk to says the money isn't all that good, but hey if you're doing good then cool, but driving around in "taxi" mode was not on my bingo card And not a job per say, but how about all the self-checkout`s now, whether its Target or just going to McDonalds, you do it all yourself.
These are just new titles of old job/schticks: Manifestation Coach = Thought lecturer / self-help seminar leader / preacher In Social Media Influencer = Celebrity endorser / lifestyle pitchperson Grubhub and instacart workers = Courier / errand runner / delivery driver Professional gamer = Competitive arcade player / chess/bridge/billards professional Air B&B host = Short-term landlord / boardinghouse operator Uber driver = Taxi driver
I'm pulling $20/hour door dashing during my kid's band lessons. Only 5 hours a week, but that's like $400/month. It beats sitting in the car watching YouTube like I used to.
When Kemahkeith was younger in the stated time period of the mid 80's they definitely existed. I appreciate that you may have reinterpreted the question to ask what didn't exist when YOU were younger, and I freely concede that under those conditions you are undoubtedly correct.
Dam dude, that's awesome...............do you get to pick what orders you do or set some type of radius that you can only go to stay close to your son`s practice?
The funny thing about this is we've grown accustomed to dumping money into watching athletes play on the field and actually giving a damn about it, but when it's people playing video games for money, it's really weird. Both are strange. Like they are manufactured consequences we're willing to spend money on that really have no bearing on our lives in the end, but here.... please take my money!! Isn't AirBnB just .... rentals with maybe a middle-man? I don't know - I've never used one. Social Media influencer just seems like a shill or a marketer who have existed forever, but one with an online following. Kind of like spokespersons on commercials (though I'm not sure they had followings back in the day). Most of them are just out for themselves and to get paid shilling products they may or may not have any idea about or use. Seems like what a lot of celebrities used to do in the past and still do. Anybody remember Shadoe Stevens and the Federated store commercials? Manifestation Coach : Man, I agree on this and any number of stupid forced/contrived titles given to people just for the sake of a title. Especially all the cornball C-Suite titles that have popped up the past few years. "Chief whateveryouwanttocallyourself".
