Bad comp. Thorpe didn't wilt in playoff games and Drexler led a team to the Finals. This is more like trading Junior Bridgeman for Kareem.
At minimum 2nd to 3rd round Maximum Finals-you know which trophy Anything else: Go fishing by your retirement home, KD.
Counterfactuals always have problems. Would Mobley have developed as he has under Silas? Silas, the guy who didn't like post play? Also, if we draft Mobley, we probably don't draft Sengun, who I think is more of an impact player.
Wish there was a “cautious optimism” option. I think how I feel about this trade comes down to his extension. I’m not sure how I feel about paying a 40 year old KD $60m for his final year.
Simply put, Have KD teach Jabari the way of being a big man shot maker. Then we're set for the long haul.
I don’t know why you are so upset. It’s not like Jalen has done anything amazing when he was here. He had a job to do and guess what….he did not show up. So, just like any other job, he got replaced. It’s his fault he is not on the team, no one else’s.
lol the trade should of been Tari and FVV … maybe Rockets knew JG Hammy was about to go since he babysit it half the season last year Still Ime is going to try and be a 90s team - we take the fewest 3s in the league … we starting Okogi in place of JG and Amen in place of Dillion (that’s criminal) Okogi started hot with a diet of corner 3s but teams have adjusted … all those shooting videos of Amen have been proven a lie We should of waited a year but Ime is stubborn and Stone burnt his bridge overplaying his hand trade deadline last year now yall see what I always said - Ime offensive plan sucks - KD will protect his 50/40/90 at all cost while causing 2x the turnovers of JG and DB combined
I still think it was a good trade, but as others have pointed out, you can’t trade for KD and not put ball handling around him. Everyone says, well we didn’t know Fred would get hurt. But I think that’s complete horse sh#t. Fred had missed significant time both seasons with Houston and was coming off a year where he looked visibly in decline. We needed to have a reliable point guard behind him or an upgrade if we were pivoting to win-now mode. Many of us thought we neglected the backcourt this offseason, and that’s the biggest culprit undercutting KD’s impact. but I would have been cool not pivoting to win-now and instead taking the season to find out if Reed or Amen could fill that role. What u don’t do is make a win-now trade and then gamble that your unproven young guys can be our point guard. You don’t do that. to me both Ime and Stone have a lot to answer for. And we can’t ignore the fact that our other offseason acquisitions have been zeros in Clint and DFS. “DFS will help us in the playoffs”. If we arent careful, we won’t make the playoffs.
FYI….DFS is over 30 years old and a career 7 ppg average player. He is WAY overrated and certainly not a savior. He’s basically another Josh Okobie if that excited you. We need a point guard who can make free throws in the clutch. We lose games because we don’t have that closeout player.
