KD and Sengun is the problem..You have two offensive players. Your main players need to be TWO WAY PLAYERS. KD is just a scorer at this point in his career and Sengun has never been a defensive player
Everyone was hyped to get KD but the reality is when you lose a guy like DB that defense first get after it mentality is gone unfortunately
I think that if DFS was not so seriously injured as we only realised before season started, then our defense wouldn’t be so loose by now. He was supposed to play at least 25 minutes a game and cover our perimeter defense instead of DB. This, combined with Fred’s injury, led to a bigger responsibilities that KD should have never be charged of - ball handling and defense. The questions that need to be asked are - 1. Why did we sign DFS if we knew is not healthy enough? 2. Are we not gonna get a deal to bring a decent pg? Considering the ongoing absence of DFS, maybe we should just accept the fact that he’s not available for us, and trade him away? I mean the guy is 32, so coming off this long ankle injury, he probably won’t be that effective either way. We should try to cash in on him and send him away for a decent pg. I checked in eson trade machine and we can send dfs + tyler smith to Sac and get Schroder (and I guess we can add some picks too). I think such deal can really benefit with us, the ball handling will no longer be a task for kd, so he can focus more on making shots and provide sufficient defense.
