How can we as a group EVER know the truth when there are 7 different versions of one headline.

I trust nothing coming from the mouthpieces of this administration or regime one might say.
I also trusted nothing from the previous administration after KJP and the likes of Jake Tapper defended the president daily. sharper than I have ever seen him.

So where can we get reliable news when it is bought and paid for before it ever reaches the outlet.

The vast majority of jails and prisons don't have daily mail service. Mail often goes out and comes in on a weekly basis, so you can't draw any conclusions from a postmark date.

Related, the "NOVA 220" mark is not a postmark (zip codes have 5 numbers) and does not mean it came from Northern Virginia. That's an internal tracking mark used by USPS to signify that it was sorted mechanically through a system designed for returning undeliverable mail.

There's another document that says the FBI requested an analysis of the letter, presumably to include looking at handwriting. We don't know if that analysis was done or what it showed. Maybe it pops up in later releases.

This is not to say the document is legit. There's almost certainly illegitimate materials in these releases. The point is, we need more information and more context for what we are seeing. Blithely dismissing something means little right now, as does blindly accepting it. We need a public fact-finding effort if we are going to get out of this mess with any semblance of sanity.

 

Speaking of a lack of trust in the DOJ, it seems the White House has now taken over the social media accounts and presumably other public affairs efforts of the Department of Justice--a development that would be a major scandal under any previous administration and immediately force a very public resignation of any qualified and independent Attorney General. The White House making public statements on behalf of DOJ is an extremely dangerous place to be.
