Maybe semantics... but i wouldn't call KD a play finisher... He definitely has to work to get to his spots, especially when he isn't playing with prime WB, Curry, or Harden.

I don't think they are just expecting KD to perform miracles, in fact the issue is usually the ensuing decision making that happens when KD passes out of the trap. We are not taking advantage of the mismatch.

I feel Sengun does catch in the low and high post but he does tend to back down an opponent. Sengun can certainly mix it up more and make better decisions because one of the benefits of backing down an opponent is Sengun gets to watch the defense react and make a decision.

Also there's defense as the Pels had a 74 point second half game and to a lesser extent the Kings' guards got hot in 4th. Reed couldn't stop fouling DeRozan and Schroder when some of the starters were resting. This roster just has a lot of pieces that don't necessarily fit in the current state.

Sign Chris Paul…. He’d be cheap and can provide value even from the bench

I hate to be repetitive, not really, but CP3 helps in winning clutch games. One more thing, in clutch games, CP3 would definitely assist in closing those games out.

CP3 in 2025 couldn't help the Clippers in the Clutch....he's done. You want CP3 clapping and yelling at players on the bench?

Teams are double teaming Durant. Which makes since, get the ball out of his hands.

Sengun has to be the one that has to beat you. Yet there is some sort of disconnection, in
either the coaching or the players not communicating, and understanding whats going on down the stretch to close out
these games. Until this disconnect gets fixed, they will struggle to close out games.

Imagine how brutal this is going to be in the playoffs... again.

Ime is better than Silas though, so all of this can be swept under the rug and he isn't allowed to be critiqued.

We've gone from a FVV run offense to a KD focal point.... and we're still dealin with a bunch of youngsters... its gonna take a minute to figure it out....

Honestly, its prob good that they are facing some adversity...

This is just ignorance......they can't FIX KD's bad passing - he is 37 years old, they need to STOP giving him the ball to initiate....it doesn't take a minute to know that he SUCKS at it.....put it in Reed's hands and realize he will need to grow into that role, but in the end it will be better than it is now.

I'm sure you are right, dude... someone like a KD could never correct poor passing... im sure he could never focus on it and reduce his turnovers or something...
I mean how could a logical person not obviously conclude that a future Hall-of famer sucks... lol..

There aren’t many clutch scorer in the NBA overall. There are many play finisher but in a winning shots makers are only handful in the league. I would say Jokic, Luka, Halliburton, SGA, Brunson, Lillard* and maybe Curry (great finisher but not the buzzer beater). KD was never a good buzzer beater, heck even Westbrook was handling final shot when they were playing in OKC. What I’ve seen so far is KDs floor contribution is 25ppg, if he really play aggressive he gives you extra 6 points (31ppg) on top of it with a great efficiency. Don’t expect KD go extra mile to drop +45pts to carry a team to Win because he’s not that kind of player.

I hope you are listening, KD! It's not that you are bad at initiating. You are mediocre, assist to TO and points/TO per possession and other advance stats tell part of the story but also just the eye test. But you are the greatest finisher of all time. We need you to finish most of these possessions during the last two minutes. Find a way to get open and to your spot. I don't care if you have to push off or kick the opponent in the balls. Don't be lazy and just call for the ball in the post, we don't have many good passers that can get you the ball there when you don't seal your defender. In the other words, get your old ass moving without the ball.

While I agree there is a closer problem in a big way, a lot of these games had big leads that were erased over the fourth quarter like a slow motion wreck. There is an effort consistency problem as well.

we eased up and didnt keep our foot on their throat.... hopefully losing a few games to crappy teams will help them realize that there is no letting up...

I thought it was inevitable, a lot of hot shooting, there was no real ball movement.......

You can only coast so much on talent alone.......

Ime Udoka is embarrassing. The man would not recognize what good ballhandling is.....if it was put in front of him.
