I am NYC for Christmas and I had talked up the NBA store to my kiddos. Are they actually Rockets fans? No. Do they care about the NBA? Also, no.

But the point stands: I wanted to buy them either Houston Rockets hooded sweatshirts or alternatively Durant Jersey shirts.

so after exploring we found: a couple of youth Thompson jerseys, a couple pairs of rockets shorts, 4 van fleet jersey shirts and a single white rockets astronaut hooded sweatshirt (wrong size).

How is it that the Rockets are both good and
have Durant and the flagship NBA store has no real Rockets merchandise for kids?

Oh well. I told the kids more of a justification to visit Houston to go to the real Rockets store.

    Houston Rockets get no love.

I asked the lady at check out and she called the police on me.

She said, “this is Brunson country,” as she punched the air.

Before the series started, Knicks fans were saying that Championships were won in New York. They said Houston never wins anything. Don't let them twist it, their fans drew first blood. Not ours. We welcomed a great battle of 90's stars, finally other teams getting a chance when MJ bowed out. They didn't want any sportsmanship, they disrespected us.

The Knicks losing to the Rockets were recited in rap songs of the 90's, their fans still get rabid whenever the subject is brought up, and Pat Riley to this day gets visibly upset when asked.

That's why there's minimum Rockets gear in NYC. Because we ruined the sport for them and their precious franchise has never recovered.

Nah, knicks fans don’t hate the ROX, they kinda just don’t care. Yankees fans? Oh, they HATE, HATE, HATE, the STROS.

Would have been puzzled if they had no Brunson merch ...but they are probably sold out.

Not sure what you were expecting. NYC hates the Rockets. They do, however begrudgingly, admire Dream though.

This is your reminder that si (headquartered in NYC) had a Knicks cover ready to go but when the Rockets won Game 7, the next issue had a soccer player on it and the Rockets were barely mentioned on the cover and given the same font as a Ted Williams fishing story. It was so bad, Dream stopped by the offices when he was in NYC after the season ended to tell them face to face.

I had waited my whole life for a Houston champion to be on the cover of si and had subscribed since age 10. I cancelled that day and never picked up another copy of that rag. Not in a dentist office, not the swimsuit issue. None of them. I hate si almost as much as I hate Bud Adams and I hate Bud Adams a lot. Like, a lot. Thankfully, both are dead now.

The Lego store and the FAO lines were 3 blocks. Thankfully my kiddos are content after we moved into Saks.

Less than 10. We went to the Met for a few hours today and are spending the evening in Bryant Park before going home tomorrow AM.

Gotta be home in time for Lakers Rockets on TV Christmas night.

I'd imagine NYC especially would have an inventory that caters to tourists, which means more internationally recognized names. Especially these days with online shopping dominating the market, the actual stores are less likely to carry inventory that aren't expected to move very fast.
