Yeah, individual +/- is a bad stat, it's good for 2 and 3 player combos. It tells you little otherwise.
JSJ is worth a few loss a year if he grows. Missing opportunities is part of the game. I like that he taking them. Growing his role. We are lucky to have him. If there was a system in place I say let the system work. The machine is better than its cogs. He is a team player who needs team support to play. (Reed is the same way). His function is not hero style basketball. High end role players playing with in themselves when used properly will win most games. A higher end functional player is all JSJ needs to be.
The elbow was wide open but he runs to hide in the corner where is hard to pass you the ball on a blitz. The stat is accurate
Missing that free throw with 10 seconds left in OT really hurt. We lost by one point. Of course we also then allowed the Kings to get a wide open three to win the game, so it’s not just about one missed free throw. But, it’s the little things that matter.
If I see one more flat line drive shot hitting the front of the rim from Jabari I might go crazy. FVV salary and Jabari new contract salary kicks in this summer. About $50 million to go star hunting. Just something to think about...
It is not accurate at all. He doesn't hide in the corner at all. It would be by the coach's instructions for where he needs to be. Jabari is the kind of player who would follow Ime's plans 100 percent.
1 free throw yes.........but he was the only player who scored in the last 2 minutes. He scored 7 points in the last 2 minutes. Where was everyone else?
He got the ball in the post against freaking Keon Ellis and passed it off. And then got one against Westbrook and faded away and bricked it. Soft ass ****.
This is a weird thread idea... honestly. How on earth is Jabari the focal point of blame here? He was far from perfect, but was huge in OT. Our last 2 possessions in regulation against Sacto were KD and then Alpy. Both guys tried to flop and draw a foul, failed, and the game ends up going to OT. At the end of OT, Tari inexplicable leaves Schroeder wide open. Just wanders off. We lose on that made 3. Jabari isn't a star, but he needs to take the opportunities offered so that the stars can continue to operate. He is averaging career highs in a lot of categories. The growth of Jabari, Reed and Amen through the season determines how far we can go in the playoffs, and if we become a genuine contender for the next few years.
I'd love to see Jabari traded, but unfortunately his contract extension makes that incredibly unlikely. Once DFS is back in particular, I'm all for moving Jabari to the bench to see if he can do anything with that type of role.
The idea of Jabari is not the reality. I'm not seeing this plus defender that everyone else does. He gets cooked on defense. He is a decent weak side shot blocker. Still gets pushed around in the post by smaller players so he can't even get that middy off. He consistently misses wide-open shots which is horrible because he should be the biggest beneficiary of the KD & Sengun gravity.
Him and Amen are the glue for our defense - it’s their job to not only cover their man but attempt to clean up the weaknesses of the others on court at time - his rebounding game to game depends on who he’s guarding and if he’s out on the arc or in the paint … his shooting could be better - if he has too much time he’s usually going to be short (he’s gets in his own head too much)
He's a 3&D player who's shooting about league average from 3. Stone overpaid another player.. Bench him or trade him.
Not sure why this thread is weird. Despite all the talk about not fixing what ain't broke based on record, there has been something wrong for a while. When Reed was smoking hot and Adams was gobbling up all the rebounds, it was masked. I thought maybe the starters were kind of coasting with big leads. KD has been getting a ton of blame for the offense going into the tank when he gets double-teamed, and him annihilating teams when he doesn't. Not sure why it is weird that JSJ would get some blame. The starting lineup needs more shooting. I think the end of game collapses has just magnified that something is wrong. Spacing is obviously whack. I'd put more of that on Sengun, Amen, and Okogie than JSJ, but JSJ just hasn't made himself difficult to guard lately. The off ball guys just aren't doing enough when KD is getting doubled. Caveat: I'm not 100% on what is wrong. Probably a few things.
Whenever he gets the ball, instead of running the offense he tries to pretend he’s KD, goes 1 on 1 and then bricks a midrange. all those plays he could have kicked out to the open ma
Bari is fine, he was on the floor during their run, hurting his plus minus...that is a rotation issue. DD
Do we think the starting rotation would be better if they slide KD to the 4 and put DFS or Tari at the 3?
Fire Ime! Bench Bari! Trade Sengun! Trade Amen! Trade Reed! Get rid of KD! Get rid of FVV! Adams is useless on offense! Capela is washed! Holiday is a scrub! Have I missed anything else?
