I don’t necessarily disagree with what you’re saying but FVV isn’t coming back anytime soon if he even does make it back later this season, so need to figure out a way to adjust.

Also, I would argue we are losing some of these games just as much because of the lack of effort and communication on the defensive end of the floor. I watch the team this year and I’m astounded at how different they look defensively, it’s really disappointing.

 

I don't know anything about Coby. Is he a good defender? Is he a good floor general or just a decent combo guard? I think I read an article recently that the Bulls saw him as part of their core.

At this point our best bet is probably some combo guard like Malik Monk (not a fan, plus probably can't make salary work).

 

Warriors, Spurs, even Kings tonight...

They all play more guys than us.

 

Even if Houston doesn’t win it all the trade was still a good one to make. This team really didn’t have a guy the young players could learn from. KD being one of the greatest players to ever do it is a great candidate for that. The move really didn’t hurt the core of the team either as Green was never apart of that core. This team ultimately will go as far as Amen, Reed and Alpi take them not a 37 year old KD. The problem is Houston themselves started talking about being contenders so naturally us fans and the media ran with that times a thousand.

They got out rebounded and went to the line 12 fewer times than the Kings. That's basically the game. I think they were tired. Playing Durant 48 minutes at this stage of his career on the 2nd night of a back to back, especially a road back to back with travel involved, was a bad decision. I'm an Udoka fan, but he deserves the criticism for how he's handling his bench. Only playing 8 guys tonight was ridiculous.

 

Look at the shots we're drawing up for KD at the end of these games! Our opponents are cheating off their man taking away the angles/lanes from KD to get to his spots.
Overtime vs Denver: bad shot from Sengun and coach should've called timeout
Overtime vs Pelicans: KD kicked out open basket to Reed - back to back bricks
Overtime vs Kings: Tari left open 3 while we up 2
KD averaging 25ppg on 52%...he's doing his job. Our other players need to level up

 

And Phoenix got a good piece in Dillon Brooks who could also instill some edge and competitiveness into their young core.

like craig and ryan said, stop looking at other team's record and treat them as nba talents up and down that lineup sheet.

 

He is more of a scorer yes but he's still a point guard that won't get fazed by being pressed and can simply bring the ball up the court cleanly which seems to be a big issue around here...

The only thing is getting him changes a lot for this team, it's not a small change, the Bulls are trading him (supposedly) because they know he's going to make more than what they want to pay, so if you get him, he's part of your core now. It would be a pretty big trade and would likely take Jabari/Tari/Reed away from us.

The other option I guess is Harden...I could see that being a thing if KD wants to play with him again. Clippers have a good dance partner since we could give them FVV and again...one of Bari/Tari some draft picks because lord knows they need young players and draft picks.

I know many here hate the idea of Harden but he's absolutely the most talented PG we could get and the man, like KD, is still absolutely balling his mind out. I do kind of think he's cursed or something though...

 

The main problem with getting Coby is he'll be an unrestricted free agent in the summer. We're not trading Jabari...can't trade Tari straight up (Tari making $5M)
DFS and Coby make the same amount

 

At the start of the season, our free throws were strong. It seems they have dropped away recently.

 

I could see a Harden move as well if Clippers budge but to what price.

If Harden does not work out, KD and Harden are gone and retool then.

 

You guys are so predictable. You sound like a Suns fan. This is how KD gets away with this bullshit. All you are looking at is shooting percentage lol Which is literally what I said would happen in the offseason when we got him. Yeah sure the on off with the Suns for him was great. He has great stats AND THEY LOSE. Cuz he's old and doesnt impact the game the way he used to. There's a reason the Suns are better without him despite having constant injuries this year. You guys are the type of people who learn the hard way.

 

This team needs a point guard badly. I repeat….badly!!!
