Every franchise has these sort of games…. But the Texans have to have the MOST of these types of games in NFL history. (Yes, even more than the teams that have been around for 100 years)
Got the win, which is the most important thing (duh). But this game is a bit of a reality check. This is the NFL. Ugly games like this happen sometimes. As poor as the Raiders are overall, they've got some good players in Crosby, Bowers and Ashton Jeanty, and a solid HC in Carroll. Despite their flaws on offense, the Texans can still make a deep playoff run, possibly all the way to the Super Bowl. None of the AFC teams scare me. But it ain't gonna be a cakewalk getting through the AFC. I'm more bummed about the Broncos stinking it up against the Jags.
Next week is certainly feeling “less” winnable after today’s showing. Hope the locals are planning to take over L.A. (God knows the Angeleans never show up)
It shouldn't have been this close. Needed them to score on the kneel downs smh. oh well. Seven and the offense sleepwalked through the first 48 minutes of the game. 5 sailed throws in the 1st qtr. Highest has been 4 all game. And drained energy is contagious, that was the longest explosive play to a back on a reception all year. Jonathan Taylor's was on a screen play. Jentry double moved mofos. But a win is a win. Throws were completed and P.Is happened to save the game. a little bogus on the P.I. Legit, but the 5 yard automatic 1st down kind. Best play of the game: Chubb running aiming for a TD but Kirk bumping him all the way preventing him from breaking away.
The Chargers are terrific lol. I mean sure it's "winnable" but that language is usually reserved for bad teams.
If they had gotten another easy win today, they would have came in flat against the Chargers thinking they are hot **** then got demolished. Instead they will be focused all week and come out ready.
I think the disappointing thing is that we let the only offensive playmakers on both the Cardinals and Raiders torch us. You would think the one job would be stopping McBride/Wilson and Bowers/Jeanty. It is what it is. 10-5 after 0-3 start you coulda told me that in September and I would've been ecstatic.
The only possible benefit… otherwise this team still lacks any sort of offensive awareness and the defense now has the tendency to read their own press.
