I have no idea what youre talking about. Theres really nothing in your post that has anything to do with what I said. Did you mean to quote me?
Yeah people really need to realise we're in "win now" mode, this is our tiny little KD window. Unfortunately for us we're forced to do "talent by committee" in the future because none of our guys are in that top superstar tier with the Wembys of the world, so we'll be relying on a lot more luck or future moves if we're planning on trying to compete with some of the real future contenders.
dont worry bro. I already had a feeling you were illiterate. My reply was really for anyone else who thinks we are good standing pat punting a season with reed sheppard and josh okogie
Rockets are 10-0 this season when they have a defensive rating of 111.0 or better. Rockets are 6-8 this season when the defensive rating is worse than 111.0. 2 of our best defenders (Tari and DFS) are out. When they come back, they need to take over minutes from some of these bums that don't play defense. Simple solution. These dudes need to hurry the hell up and get healthy. I'm still pissed off that we just let Saddiq Bey drop 29 points on us last night. I mean...WTF
Ah ok thought you misquoted me, but you just have awful comprehension. No worries, ive got a fix for that.
Sengun cant shoot. And he's too small to play how he plays. That's the problem. The team cant be built around someone with these limitations. If Jokic shot as bad as Sengun does, he would've been traded a long time ago.
KD isn't a top tier superstar anymore. There is really no win-now window. We is just like FVV in the past two season, a place holder until the young guys develop. Yes, if we don't have an MVP level guy, then we'd better put everything in molding this young core into a cohesive unit.
Then we have no window, back to the tank. This is genuinely the eye of the storm, it's either compete with the Thunder the next 2 seasons or fall way behind the pack when all the other star players either mature or get their teams constructed around them. Like you say, we don't have a Wemby, Luka or Shai to rely on, we got the supplementary pieces with the draft picks we kept and the rest weren't great.
I have not given up on our young guys to develop into top 10 players. Too early to do that. It's much easier to win with a player like Shai, Luka, Wemby, or Jokic. But it's not impossible to do if you have a good enough core. The Pacers almost did it last season led by a guy like Haliburton.
Yeah it's a fair point, though i do think that's significantly easier in the East. I am disappointed in Amen so far I think, i was expecting a big superstar leap and he's arguably regressed in a lot of ways. Alpi's looking great but he's not fixing weaknesses as much as just getting better with his original skillset - i'm not convinced that'll really be more than Sabonis tier (obviously massively different if he did start properly making his 3's and being efficient, but I of all people know the folly of putting your hopes on a shooter who flashes greatness but ultimately remains inefficient.) Whilst i could actually believe we're the type of multipurpose team with gritty d that could win a scrappy chip, i'd genuinely completely change tactic at the deadline if we're still not looking like competitors and trade KD who is our actual best trade piece if we want to keep our young core (what's left anyway.) Seeing the play right now, i'd take Harden over KD any day and the offense would ****ing sing.
Losinh Fred to injury has absolutely zero correlation with us having no functional offensive scheme in the 4th quarter of games. Ime’s embarrassing coaching is not absolved by Fred getting injured.
It’s jus as much of a cop out as the head in sand army saying this is because of DFS not being back yet (trusting that a player coming of a big injury and surgery, never played for the rockets …is going to randomly fix it all )
Yeah, I dont understand why people think Fred is the magical cure for the offense when it looked just as bad or worse with him out there the past couple years. No doubt the offense probably looks a little bit better with him rather than Okogie, but its not like Fred is suddenly turning this offense to some juggernaut. Ime's simply got to do a better job getting these guys to a baseline competency and not doing stupid ****.
Ya Jokic is Jokic because of his insane shooting skill. If you look at efficiency, Sengun is -3, +3, +1, -5, -3 for his 1st 5 years, Jokic was +8, +16, +8, +5, +7 before his year 6 explosion where he became the undisputed best player in basketball. He'll be an allstar and might make all nba but for him to become a legit superstar (or even approach that), his efficiency has to skyrocket.
