If the Comets come back to Houston, the WNBA better rig it so they get the #1 overall pick to draft JuJu Watkins when she declares in '27. Makes too much sense.

The entire league is a failure financially, it's subsidized by the NBA .... without the subsidies they lose money.

I couldn't care less if Houston has a women's team, it's not entertaining and I have a lot of other things to do / spend my $$ on before I do an WNBA game.

Tilman, it's your money .... but my advice is "Don't, it's already failed, Hilton couldn't even find a buyer", The team was not relocated. The brand was not transferred to another city. The roster was not kept together under a new owner. The franchise simply ceased operations .... That in what was supposedly one of the WNBA’s most important early markets.

Wnba is getting a new TV deal, it's finally becoming profitable, this is why you see these other ownership groups are trying to buy one. Even if low attendance, the TV money will guarantee profitability since the player salaries are still low.

As the article stated Celtics was trying to pull a fast one, I'm glad at least HOU gets first dib.

CT lost the original Patriots bid to Boston. They lost the Whalers, Suns is one of their remaining professional teams, so I do feel for the locals. But the current owners want to cash out while they can, not unlike Cuban or the Buss family.

Lastly, the arena over there might not be big enough on future growth, like if Catlin comes to town. Arenas like the TD Garden or Toyota Center have more capacity.
