LOL! I think we're closer than we know. I'm just terribly cynical about waste and fraud from everyone with their hand in our pocket by force of law.

But I'm a turnip so they can't get my blood anymore.

The Bears are saying they will invest 2 billion to build the stadium in the Chicago area. That’s pretty significant in my opinion. How old is the current stadium?

2 billion by the owners seems more generous than many other stadium deals I remember.

I'm not concerned with the investment of the owners. I'm concerned with the investment AND obligations of the TAXPAYERS. For far too long, politicians have accepted over optimistic projections of revenue from developers at best and more likely simply unconcerned when their palms were greased which is far more likely.

Tully Stadium? Did you know the Vikings practiced there back when the Super Bowl was played at Rice Stadium? I wasn’t born for another 4 months or so, but my brother tells stories about going to watch them practice.

    I did not know that.

Dad and I went and watched many a random HS game at Tully. He taught me to drive in that parking lot.

Did you know me and a couple of buddies did workouts there, with our dads as coaches.

I have kicked a barefoot 30yd FG on exactly 2 fields: Tully and Rice Stadium. I was young and sober for the first one, the 2nd one took me 4 tries

I’m not all aboard for the building of a new stadium, but is building a new NFL, or any sports stadium, really that wasteful compared to the other bullshit government hemorrhages?

The reason for the closing schools in Ft Bend is the same reason schools are closing across the state in suburban districts....lower enrollment. Some of these school districts, such as Frisco ISD, had rules where they intentionally made schools of smaller student size thus the need for a lot of buildings. Fast forward 20-30 years and that decision has made for a lot of schoolhouse rooftops that need to be maintained and the district doesnt have the funds or the students. To counter they are basically allowing open enrollment from any surrounding ISD.

I agree we need to fund schools but there are many issues going on with ISDs in the state that funding won't help.

Also I really hope the Texans dont lose next game because as long as I've avoided this section they've gone on a 7 game win streak. Maybe since this isn't necessarily football talk, it doesnt count?

My best friend in HS kicked barefooted, he didn't make it on the Varsity at Klein Forest but I was so intrigued that he would do that with no shoe...........there was some kicker in college or the NFL at the time (early 80`s) who did it and I think he was trying to do the same thing

bro, this doesn’t mean you need a new stadium. This means you need to develop all those 99% of the time empty ass parking lots at NRG.

If Montgomery or Ft Bend want to waste resources on this then let them but Harris county can’t be building new nfl stadiums every 30 years.

We have been waiting 40 years for Texas to fund schools. This fight happened in the 80s. The rich do not want to pay for the poor to be educated. This is not going to change. Republicans have convinced people who are poor/lower middle class that there are people worse off that steal from the taxpayers. LOL. MAGA still supports Trump while he steals from them. Get your head out of the sand. You pay for the stadium, or the Texans will find someone who will. Houston has lost one team over this. KC, Missouri just lost the Chiefs to their sister city across the river. There is always someone willing.
