I'm in this same mindset and always pretty consistent This game doesn't really matter, seeding wise yes it might, but the long term it doesn't. Hopefully the team learns not to lose big leads against bad teams because it feels like they do it every game they playu a bad team. Like they just expect them to roll over and then when the other team fights back, they seemed surprised and can't get their momentum back. At the end of the day I think this team will be a lot better in March than it is now. There's still a lot of chemistry issues to work out, we have to get some guys back, and I still think no team looks at the Rockets and go "Boy, I'd love to see that team for 7 games!" This loss hurts right now though for sure but this all kind of reminds me of the Texans season and the people that wanted to get rid of Demeco. Even then I had given up on the season too but I was like eh, the guy deserves a bit of grace, and I think no one is thinking about firing him anymore right now.
Ime is stubborn and stuck in his ways on a lot of things in regards to coaching. I wouldn't say he is dumb. In the Rockets eyes he's coaching a team that simply doesn't have a true point guard.
He had FVV last year and it was not the greatest thing either, fewer Turn overs ....but the end product ..... This KD guy is not magically winning a title by himself.
Udoka didn’t shoot 3-10 from 3 and 4-12 overall FG%. Sheppard did. Udoka didn’t go 2-10 FG. Adams did. Udoka didn’t commit 6 and 4 turnovers. KD and Amen did.
Did you watch the game? Again to @J Sizzle point. At the same time people like to b**** about no playmaker we had one last night that cut up the defense. He had 7 assists and 0 turnovers. That was reason enough to play him. Down in the 1st Q, he comes in and we’re up 25. Highest +/- on the team and that’s a consistent theme Players can’t get into rhythm you’re pulling them randomly, icing them and asking them to come in the last 2 seconds Let me be very clear. The job of the team is to put players in positions that allow them so succeed. Not the opposite. so yes, if you’re setting people up to fail and sabotaging them it absolutely is.
Comprehension doesnt suit you it seems. Yes ime raised the teams floor. He is failing to raise the teams ceiling. If you understand what you wrote you'd realise you said the exact same thing just with more words.
Maybe you’re talking about earlier. But he got pulled in the 4th after gambling for a steal that resulted in Alpi picking up his 5th. Hes a young player. And he has to be disciplined and held accountable for doing what coach probably screamed at his team to stop doing. Alpi has been reaching a lot lately too. He got out of that habit by his 3rd year now he’s regressing in that department.
Ime isn't the main problem. The only thing I fault him for is advocating to bring in KD rather than keeping the roster from last year mostly in tact. Ime raised the floor his first two seasons here because he exceeded expectations. I don't think this is a championship roster, but I still think Ime is a good coach on the level of a Spoestra or Popovich. You gotta take a step back and look at the whole body of work rather than getting emotional over a bad stretch of games.
Joke thread…. With a joke premise…. A lot of you can’t accept that the Rockets just aren’t as offensively good as your unrealistic expectations. It has nothing to do with Ime, FVV is very important to offensive competency and can actually run a PNR. We simply don’t have enough playmakers. Amen has not gotten much better and Reed is too inconsistent. Defensively, we are missing some great wing depth with Tari and DFS out.
Our offense is, quite literally, no different than the Mchale days with ISO-Harden. It’s embarrassing. Again…anybody defending Udoka is either not watching the games or does not understand what they’re watching.
