Dinner conversation at the MAGA family table....

"Papa, I thought you said there would be millions of jobs after we rounded up those illegals taking all our jobs. Why can't you find a good job Papa?"

"Pass me the gravy and more squirrel meat and stop asking stupid questions Levi."

"Papa, why does Trump say we are in the Golden Years if we have to shoot squirrels and trap possums for dinner?"

"Sissy, stop your whining and be glad we have a President who doesn't threaten to take all our guns away like those evil Democrats want to do."

Trump continues to deliver in keeping inflation low! Liberals punching air right now. Market is soaring on the news.

CPI: Inflation pressures ease in November as consumer prices clock 2.7% annual rise

    https://finance.yahoo.com/news/cpi-...er-prices-clock-27-annual-rise-133224849.html

Inflation pressures eased more than expected in November, according to the latest data on consumer prices published by the Bureau of Labor Statistics on Thursday.

The Consumer Price Index (CPI) rose 2.7% over the prior year in November, less than the 3.1% increase that had been expected by economists, according to Bloomberg estimates.

altho Trump had promised that inflation will drop on the first day of of his 2nd term,
the CPI data, on a y-o-y basis, had been increasing every month under Trump 2.0, up to Oct 2025.

Nov 2025 was the first month, under Trump 2.0, where CPI, y-o-y, did not increase.

ACA subsidies are due to expire at the end of 2025, if Congress doesn't intervene to extend them.
absent the ACA subsidies, medical care for millions, who rely on it, will increase by ~~ 75%.pt more

this will drive up the CPI BIGly

Trump's a broken record. He spins the same old lies over and over. I can't imagine why anyone would have even tuned in for that BS last night. The dude is psycho. I can't even imagine what his Christmas message was, if there even was one.

2.7% inflation is in the sweet spot of where the economy wants to be to keep prices from rising too fast, but also keep the economy growing. CNBC’s lead economic reporter agrees!

I don't even see this as a party problem anymore. I didn't care who's fault it was. I don't comment much on political stuff but saw Trump's speech and had to come and see what people said. I don't care who is in office but he seemed desperate to try to convince people that what we are seeing isn't true. Just stop blaming and fix it. Literally everything is more expensive than 7-8 months ago. I was paying bills and going to the store as well as funding my mar1juana habit before with the exact same pay. I quit the habit and cut out some costs and still coming up short. They focus on eggs but anyone who shops regularly knows bills are higher. My electric quotes are higher. Im not going on trips and could care less about firewood.

My wife wanted chili last week. Ground beef was $6-$7 per pound. A bag of Fritos was almost $6. I was able to get ground beef at $4 a year or so ago. Fritos were about the same. My kids yogurt pouches are almost $10 for a ten pack. My middle kids preschool just went up $100 a month. It is enough that we are having to hold off on starting my 1 year old until next year. My healthcare quote is double for the same insurance. My property tax bill is up, my flood insurance is up, my home gas bill is up, water bill is higher, HOA fee is up. Even every streaming option is up. I've cancelled half of them though now. These are the costs that actually matter to me. I will give him that gas prices have stayed consistent. We are having to cut out my oldest son's after school activities. We just keep having to cut stuff out to be close to as comfortable as we were a year or two ago and it wasn't even good back then.

If getting cheaper stuff would own the libs then please own away. I don't care which side anymore. I just need affordable stuff again. Starting to struggle in the last couple months for the first time even with cutting back costs. How is he going to say that this isn't happening?

The solution would be deflation and it would be pretty brutal. You would need to do what volcker did or increase taxes. All these solutions would be painful and get the politician gone.

Yep. The reason we can't close the deficit is that the actual policies are political disasters. We all want low taxes and the government to provide services to us. But you can't have both and it easy to not appreciate what the government provides, but blame them for any shortcomings.

This makes no sense. Inflation was already declining in 2024 and when Trump got into office it was below 3%. The tariffs are single handily responsible for the increase in Inflation + weak job markers. If we had no tariffs the economy would be booming

Nov 2025 CPI Report Doesn’t Quite Stand Up to Scrutiny

In the aftermath of the Trump administration’s decision to cite a government shutdown as reason not to issue data, the president’s comments that any affordability crisis is a “hoax,” and simmering concern over his August firing of the head of the Bureau of Labor Statistics, long-awaited data from the agency was released Thursday. It stated that US inflation, which has been rising for much of the past year, cooled to a four-year low last month.

The so-called core CPI, which excludes food and energy, increased 2.6% in November from a year ago—the slowest pace since 2021, the BLS said. That also happens to be below every estimate in a Bloomberg survey of economists. Some economists seem to agree on something else: the numbers are off.

Indeed, inflation in several categories that had long been stubborn seemed to nearly evaporate, according to the government. Chief among those were shelter costs, which make up about a third of the consumer price index, but other categories like airfares and apparel notably declined.
