He is unhappy everywhere he plays after a year or two going back when he wanted to be traded from here. He would be unhappy again here too in short order and cause chemistry issues. That being said, if he would go back to being a 6th man and and not cause any problems pouting or wanting to be traded, he would be awesome coming off the bench as a scorer.
He is potentially unhappy playing for a 6-18 team, sure. What do you expect exactly? He's doing all he can averaging 27 PPG on 63 TS% as a 36 year old. Even a 41 year old LeBron averaging 14 PPG would be unhappy if he hasn't being carried by Luka and Austin, and the Lakers sucked as much as the Clippers do rn. Harden wants to compete for a championship, but is getting almost no help right now and would probably welcome a change to a more competitive team.
The salaries need to match; this isn't even close. Start playing with a trade machine if you want to contribute trade suggestions.
I think the 2020-21 Nets were way closer than this year's Rockets. They picked up a couple of bad injuries at the wrong time and the Durant foot on the line, but they were monstrous when fully healthy and nobody could really handle them.
I would welcome Harden back. But not sure Ime would. Also it just doesn’t seem possible to make the salaries work. Just don’t see how we can get this done this season.
If Harden wanted to compete for a championship or at least make deep playoff runs he could have stayed in the East. He was upset with Philly not due to lack of talent or chemistry, but because they wouldn't offer him a max contract. He forced his way to the Clippers whose stars were over the hill and had not had any playoff success in years. Not only did he welcome the trade, he just opted out of his contract and re-signed with them this summer. He's not a victim of circumstance, he chose to be there. This would be the third team he's been unhappy with in the five seasons since we traded him away. What do we expect exactly? The guy clearly told you, that James will be unhappy almost anywhere he goes. That he will be unhappy if he comes back here too.
