    Of course they were leftists. They were socialists who hated free-market capitalism and wanted state control and management of education and healthcare. All of those principles are the polar opposite of right-wing ideology that supports free markets and LIMITED government.

    hitler hated socialists and communists. they were amongst the first to be rounded up and sent to concentration camps. he promoted nationalism (like trump), racism (like trump), anti-immigration (like trump), authoritarianism (like trump), anti-intellectualism (like trump), corporatism (like trump), traditional "values" (like trump), militarism (like trump). arrest and prosecution of his political enemies (like trump), advocacy and support of political violence (like trump), pardoning people who engage in political violence that benefits him (like trump).

    True. Hitler viewed communism, otherwise known as Marxism, as an evil, Jewish, plot as Karl Marx was Jewish.

    Also, German communists looked to Joseph Stalin as their ideological leader. Hitler was, of course, a hard-core nationalist and and loathed the thought of Germans looking to a non-German as their inspiration, particularly one that followed the evil, Jewish, ideology, according to Hitler.

    That's why Hitler hated communism. Hitler's hatred of communism had nothing to do with the ideology of total state ownership and control of over every facet of society.

    Yes, Hitler was a socialist, hated free-market capitalism, and espoused and implemented total state control of healthcare, education, and everything else.
