it’s republicans who are against extending the ACA subsidies causing people’s healthcare premiums to skyrocket

    it’s republicans who are anti-union

it’s republicans who are against expanding workers’ rights

it’s republicans who are against increasing the minimum wage

it’s republicans who cut Medicaid and Medicare causing many rural hospitals and clinics to close

it’s republicans who want to defund public schools

it’s republicans who fought tooth and nail against Biden’s attempts to erase student loan debt for low income Americans

it’s republicans who want no state AI regulation for the next 10 years as AI replaces countless jobs

it’s republicans who implemented the tariffs that devastated farmers during both of Trump’s terms

it’s Biden who brought hundreds of thousand manufacturing jobs back to the United States while republicans voted against the CHIPS Act and his manufacturing bill just to later take credit for the manufacturing and new job creation in their districts that resulted

but Dems have abandoned the working class just as much as republicans…I can’t take this anymore

You've GOT to be kidding! Democrats imported tens-of-millions of ILLEGALS who took MILLIONS of jobs from poor and middle-class Americans. Where have you been?

Why not get government out of the health insurance business? The ACA has driven healthcare costs into the stratosphere. Not to mention, you support forcing Americans to pay the healthcare costs of tens-of-millions of foreigners who decided that they have the right to live here, right? And that's the fault of Republicans and not Democrats?

The issue is that most democratic leadership sound like entitled city guys that seldom talk about rural issues. What caused the MAGA movement was Obama focusing on Urban and Racial issues. White working class and rural voters didn't feel the recovery and felt ignored. Even now, do you see any Democratic leaders talking about the **** show Trump created for Rural America? We are talking about immigrants and yes what Trump is doing is immoral and unethical, it doesn't effect them. At least it doesn't appear to have anything to do with them from their point of view.

The Democrats have a communication problem. They are the worse at framing a discussion where normal Americans understand.

what caused the MAGA movement was racism because a black man as President broke their brains and now they’re getting “replaced”, not because Obama ignored them or focused on racial issues

y’all need to stop letting these hateful ignorant people off the hook…

Tell me why farmers would vote for tariffs again after tariffs destroyed them during Trump’s 1st term? if anyone in this country knows how destructive tariffs can be, it’s them.

there are plenty of Democrats that talk about what Trump and republicans are doing to rural America, but they refuse to listen because “Democrat = evil”…anything a Dem says goes in one ear and out the other

there is something much deeper going on here than just a simple communication problem

even after these people lose their small business do to Trump’s tariffs, get fired because of DOGE, have their spouse detained and facing deportation by ICE, have their healthcare premiums skyrocket, etc, they will still talk about how much they love Trump and still vote republican

they interviewed a man earlier in Trump’s presidency who got laid off due to DOGE, and he was a 3x Trump voter who was going on about how much he loved Trump and gave Trump a B+…a B+ after getting fired and losing the ability to provide for his family…tell me how that’s a failure of Democrat messaging

and there are countless people like him

Who's letting anyone off the hook. This is about votes. If you ostracize everyone and call them racists, then you end up losing elections and getting we have now. Not understanding other people's point of view is how we got here.

Poor white people are screwed also and in their mind, they don't get affirmative action to help them get into college or pay for it.

I've heard plenty of Democrats talk about rural America and issues that they face. It's probably on media that rural America isn't exposed to.

So you are correct, it's a communication problem, but not the one you think.

acting like MAGA started because Obama ignored them or focused on racial issues is certainly letting them off the hook

Understanding the POV that minorities are inferior and entire groups of people shouldn’t have rights? The POV that there is a “great replacement” going on in this country? The POV of all their virulent anti-LGBTQ hysteria? Let’s just be real about why so many of them are all in on Trump/MAGA even at this point in time and continue to vote republican no matter what republicans do to them.

Tell me why farmers would vote for tariffs again?

This is the perfect example of why MAGA keeps on winning even though their leader is shitty narcissist. National elections are won in the margins. Swing voters decide elections and I promise you, not all of them are racist.

Seems like the cop out answer, but farmers appear to believe in Trump. Here is a pretty good article from earlier this year:

    https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/cjedvwed1xgo

    A few notable quotes:

    As @rockbox was stating....

I remember during the primaries leading to the 2016 elections, Bernie Sanders had a ton of support from these same individuals and I think Trump took that playbook a ran with it.

Here is an opinion piece from back in 2016.

    Here is the thing
12 billion won't bail them out. . . it will at best "keep them afloat"
They lost 42 billing but only getting back 12 billion
some farms have already been lost
The Rich don't mind waiting . .. . gradually taking over

y’all are still taking these people at their word when they’ve proven to be full of sh*t time and time again

Randal Shelby, a soybean farmer in Arkansas, described the newly announced package as “a slap in the face” for farmers.

“Our bills are past due and due now, all due to their actions,” he said. “[The aid] will be divided up among all other crop farmers that don’t have anything to do with soybeans.”

Shelby, who voted for Trump, noted that while every agricultural crop had been hit hard, “but nowhere near as hard as the soybean farmers and the rice farmers”.

Shelby, a former nurse, has been teetering on the brink of bankruptcy for months. He cited high fuel costs, rising interest rates, falling crop prices and depressed Chinese demand amid geopolitical tensions as culprits.

“It’ll be bankrupting all. And I mean, there are so many of us that are on the fence on that right now,” he added, noting that banks were still negotiating on giving new loans, and it was unclear if he would farm at all next season.

He highlighted that, despite Trump’s regular claims that gas prices were way down, the price has hovered above US$3 a gallon since 2021.

Shelby, who claimed he was forced to sell his entire harvest at a loss, said he would still vote for Trump.

after saying all this, he would still vote for Trump…

bankruptcies skyrocketed during Trump’s 1st term

    this is from 2019

U.S. farm bankruptcies in September surged 24% to the highest since 2011 amid strains from President Donald Trump’s trade war with China.

Chapter 12 family farm bankruptcies in 2019 increased by nearly 20% from the previous year, according to recently released data from the U.S. Courts. Compared with figures from over the last decade, the 20% increase trails only 2010, the year following the Great Recession, when Chapter 12 bankruptcies rose 33%.

    suicide rates rose as well

    another 2019 article

National Farmers Union has seen more farmer suicides

A Newsweek article in May detailed a Fox News interview with Patty Edelburg, vice president of the Washington-based National Farmers Union, which represents about 200,000 U.S. farms. In the interview she said, "It has been insane. We've had a lot of farmers—a lot more bankruptcies going on, a lot more farmer suicides. These things are highlighting many of the news stories in our local news."

the same exact thing is happening now

there’s a reason they support Trump and republicans and don’t regret their vote no matter how much damage and devastation is done to them, and it has little to do with Dem messaging

these are the type of people we’re dealing with

A man who voted for President Donald Trump says he does not regret his decision, even after federal immigration authorities arrested his wife as the couple returned home from their honeymoon.

Bradley Bartell's wife, Camila Muñoz, is a Peruvian citizen who overstayed her initial visa but was working toward obtaining permanent residency in the United States.

Despite the couple's ordeal, Bartell still supports Trump, who has vowed to conduct the largest mass deportation operation in U.S. history. "I don't regret the vote," Bartell told Newsweek in an exclusive statement.

they don’t care about what a Democrat has to say…they vote to see those they hate get hurt

Let's just cut the BS. Farmers are mostly white working-middle class men in a region that is culturally conservative.

American farmers voted for Trump because of the culture wars. Plain and simple. Let's not do the whole "Dems don't talk enough to rural farmer issues" BS. NOBODY talks about farmers more than Ohio's Sharrod Brown who got beat in a election where Trump's popularity on culture war issues overwhelmed even Brown who couldn't focus the election on issues he typically is rock solid on.

If you want to blame the Dem's for something fine... I would blame their inability to stand up media/propaganda that can battle the massive machine that the right has with Fox, and the massive amounts of online garbage shoveled in our faces sometimes by the minute by right wing billionaires.

However Democrats would have needed to cozy up to billionaires in an unprecedented way for that to happen which would have ruined their credibility more than anything.

So it is what it is. The American farmers and Americans in general are a victim of their own ignorance, and inability to not fall hook line and sinker for the culture wars propaganda.

yeah, this bailout hardly makes a dent…but a lot of these dumbass farmers are still firmly attached to his nuts

he destroys them, then they thank him for giving them Christmas back
