1. Kadyn Proctor OT/OG Alabama, Ioane is gone 2. Kayden McDonald DT Ohio ST. 2. Xavier Chaplin OT/OG Auburn 3. Jadarian Price RB Notre Dame 4. Whit Weeks LB LSU 4. Oscar Delp TE Georgia 5. Domani Jackson CB Alabama 6. Cody Hardy TE North Carolins St. 7. Jalil Farooq WR Maryland 3 biggest ol/dl in draft. Big play RB Athletic LB that only falls this far because of injury. 2 blocking TE's Athletic CB with elite speed that will make a great ST's guy as he gets his fwwt wet in the NFL. Development playmaking WR that looked very good at Oklahoma
DT is an understated need for this team. I’m not sure we have any of our current DT’s signed for next year.
I think Edwards, Togiai (!!!), & Hamilton are def signed for next year. Rankins is one of those odd contracts, but I think his contract was created with the intent to resign next year.
Notre Dame RB Jeremiyah Love plans to declare for the 2026 NFL draft. https://bsky.app/profile/news.optimusfantasy.com/post/3ma5jrihf322a
It is my great hope that we can re-sign them so that we can focus our most valuable picks on OL and a coverage LB.
I think PFF's draft simulator is the BEST in terms of ease of use but, unfortunately, I also believe it's the WORST based on who its algorithm picks in mock drafts. Their algorithm consistently pushes the top OL to the bottom of the first round. Historically, the top OL are selected much sooner. Other mock draft simulators don't make that mistake.
In this Pro Football Network mock draft tackles such as Fano, Lomu, Proctor, and Mauigoa were all gone before Houston's pick at 22. I think PFN's algorithm is correct.
22. Houston Texans (9–5), Vega Ioane, G, Penn State This isn’t a great year to need upgrades on the interior offensive line—there are several quality Day 2 picks, but Ioane projects as the lone true guard or center to go in the first round. Houston must improve inside, and Ioane is as sturdy as they come. He’s a physical, mauling run blocker who can win in space, too, and he’s stout in pass protection—he didn’t allow a sack or quarterback hit this season, according to Pro Football Focus.
Nah. Juice was only 3rd team all Big-10 but, for some reason, Caserio decided to use a 2nd on him. I knew that was a TERRIBLE pick the moment it was announced. Loane is FAR better. He more than held his own against Ohio State's two outstanding DT's.
My hope is that we can re-sign our own guys and somebody else's if necessary. Our OL still needs a LOT of upgrades.
I think Demeco would orgasm if Sonny Styles is available at #22. Of course, I hope we'll be picking at 32.
