Reed Sheppard is 4th among non-OKC players in Net Rating despite having to play a much larger portion of his minutes with Capela, Tari, and Tate relative to time with starters than the starters. Top Ten Net Rating under 25 Granted, I don't think Net Rating is everything.
Yeah, individual NetRtg is not very meaningful. The fact that "the other OKC J-Dub" is above "THE J-Dub" tells you something is not right. Reed's disadvantage of playing with bench players is probably offset by the advantage of playing against bench players.
I'd say it is offset some, but generally the Top Net Rating guys play on OKC or start on good teams. A lot of them play lots of minutes with MVP contenders. Reed Sheppard's Net Rating as a starter is through the roof even though he's only had one great game as a starter. In other words, playing with great teammates generally affects Net Rating more than opponents.
Reed has played well with everyone. But he's not the lone Rocket in the top 4 100+ minute two-man lineups.... https://www.nba.com/stats/lineups/a...610612745&dir=D&slug=advanced&sort=NET_RATING That man would be Aaron Shawn Holiday. A little surprising.
I'll admit I didn't understand what you meant by "that rhymes with Safari" at first but regardless if you read my thread I was referring to the thread title ;-)
Holiday has been doing great. His efficiency is through the roof. He's one of the reasons we aren't missing Fred that much. Not sure if it's sustainable though.
I kind of feel for Giddey - dude is nearly averaging a triple double and he is only the 23rd best player on the list? A decade ago Westbrook won an MVP with a 10 more points and significantly worse shooting efficiency than Giddy(props to Giddy for improving there). ...other side note - I really wanted Houston to trade up to grab Cade at the time. I thought he was more of a franchise cornerstone that Green. Wish we had done it although maybe it would compromised our ability to trade for Sengun or get other draft picks later on like Jabari and Reed.
