the fact that people are hoping that Wemby would break down shows how much fear this kid is generating, the spurs are going to be good for quite some time, hopefully wemby stays healthy longer than Yao, he is truly once in a lifetime talent, i love watching that kid, super competitive, can not let OKC just cake walk to the finals

It's not hoping he gets injured, obviously no one wants to wish that on a player other than Draymond or Steve Kerr, so apologies for my bad wording. It's more of a fact that no player of a similar build to Wemby has made a lengthy career - it's just human biology that his impossible physical traits can't endure the rigors of high intensity NBA basketball, year in and year out. And honestly not too scared of Wemby as a Rockets fan, because Alpi has toyed and bullied Wemby in multiple matchups.

Forgot the exact source but it's been mentioned that many NBA execs and insiders feel like Spurs need to be thinking in a shorter timeframe and go all-in, given that Wemby's health needs to be a huge consideration moving forward and because his health is like a ticking time bomb. If they want to win a championship with Wemby, they better go all-in in the next season or two.

Yeah, but you could just play him 55 games some years and 65 other years if he wants the Awards.

No one should be hoping anything. But 7+ footers have proven time and time again that they dont last. And GM's will still draft them and say....but what if this one does....

Yeah I don’t really love to play hindsight about the draft. I mean, it’s OK to think about it, but you just really never know how things would change depending on you altering the outcome depending on the opinion of hindsight.

Having Cunningham would be great, and I would guess that we still probably would’ve gone for Sengun. so, you can think like that.

Jalen Green wasn’t all that good for us, but ultimately, he played a part in a pretty significant trade for our team. What his exact value was in that trade is really hard to define. We know KD wanted Houston. And I feel like we got a really good deal. And drafting Jalen Greene also represented us not having to surrender said draft pick to the Thunder.

and then you get into the next year, and you begin to think about Banchero.

Wemby is likely a player that is going to change the game and end up in the very top of all timers if he stay as healthy. But to be honest, after Victor, I think the best prospect of the last few years is Amen. That is my personal opinion. I think long-term he will be better than Cunningham, Holmgren or Banchero. And I’m only really thinking about the years that we tanked. Flagg May end up on the level of Thompson, but I wouldn’t trade them for one another right now.

Smith is to Banchero as Shepp is to Castle in my mind. Banchero and Castle may currently look better, but I prefer having Smith and Shepp.

I know that Smith is already on the downside of his career being that he is in his fourth season and all, but I still think there is a **** load of room for growth.

I remember that sad Day in January, Where we traded James Harden. The rebuild wasn’t particularly fun, But I think it was well executed overall.

And honestly, I know this sounds crazy, but I just really like Thompson as a player, more than Wemby.

That guy should be more grateful for what we have vs coveting other teams' players. We don't even know how good Harper will be yet. Wemby was clearly a big win for SA, but it's not like they beat incredible lottery odds to land him like Dallas did with Flagg. Their record was terrible that year and they were tied for best lottery odds. The very next year we actually jumped up six spots (via Brooklyn's pick) to draft Sheppard at #3 while they had the #4.

Our draft positioning was fine. We averaged the 3rd pick which is quite fair. We could have been Detroit, who dropped to 5th pick three years in a row. Our 2021 pick had a nearly 50/50 chance of going to OKC which would have been devastating. It wasn't the draft positioning that made us choose Green over Mobley. And Green ended up being a key piece of the KD trade so it all ended up gravy IMO.

Cunningham, Banchero, and Wemby were all gone by the time we picked.

I always like hard working, unselfish players, regardless of their talent level. All five of our young guys are like this and I love them all. I really hope Tari will be healthy and be an integral part of this team long term.

I know it's very unlikely that they we will keep them all. But if these five guys are our starting five in the next decade or so, I'll be happy.

I’m afraid tari will be traded. He wants his bag and rockets didn’t give it to him. He’s gone, unfortunately.

Also, I’m not fully convinced on reed. I want so badly for him to succeed but I am super skeptical.

It’s according to what you need to be convinced about. If you need to be convinced he will be a star, I’m not convinced either. I am now convinced he can be a contributor on a winning team, because of his shooting alone. Unfortunately for Reed, I’m not sure he has the right coach to take advantage of what he does at an elite level. He does deserve the time to prove guys like me wrong, and I hope I am and he is a superstar.

At times I feel bad for how Jalen panned out. I like the kid (unlike KPj before him). But ultimately I think he's always had the wrong people around him. But I think he's got a good heart.
