Point Sengoon and Point KD make my eyes bleed. Maybe have a point guard run the play and get these boys the ball in there spots not at the top of the 3 point line

Yeah point KD is just a no all around but I want to see the Senhub from the high post and elbows. This perimeter Sengun nonsense is getting on my nerves. Feels like they arent utilizing his passing ability fully when he is operating in areas where he isn't a scoring threat

Interesting take. Shot selection is about the funniest excuse an old timer can make.

I think the 2017-18 rockets would have rolled through Thai league and beaten the thunder easily

I.T. is so on team IME. D and rebound. More 2 and high quality 3 than volume of low quality 3.

Aggressive D takes a back seat this year compared to last, especially when Durant is in the floor. Kinda lost our identity as a team that is terror on D. Terror Twin isn’t even a thing anymore.

    That doesn't make sense.

First, there's the same number of teams in the league. How is it easier to win now if everyone agrees with what he says?

Second, he said, "If you rebound the ball 100% of the time..." How is that even possible?

Third, if the shot selection is so poor today, why is the overall efficiency so much higher than in Isiah's day?

Eye-ball test... way too many turnovers. Started with JSJ, making dribbling mistakes. KD being old. Sengun is taking too many risks with passing. Amen just overpassing.

Reed with another game that he didn't impact that much positively. Missed a lot early. Made up for a lot of it in the 2nd half.

    Adams ineffective.

Not sure Amen's contact was enough for a foul.

This offense makes my eyes bleed .... KD starting a play 30 feet from the basket or Sengun starting it at the 3 point line ....Ugh.

Someone those two the ball in their spots ..... high post / elbow.

People say today's NBA doesn't play defense. It just seems so much harder the past 5-6 years to get the ball where the offensive player wants it these days. Rockets either need better PG play or need a counter. I thought Reed did okay (some bad, some good) in PG duties, even if his shot didn't fall early which dragged down his entire game).

Rockets just don't have the polish of a team like Denver. It just seems like when the Rockets keep Jokic from getting the ball inside the 3 point line, he just swings it, and the ball finds an open shooter/cutter (alternatively, he just gets to his position on his own with the ball). The Rockets still score really well for all their ball-handling issues, ball stickiness, and youth. Just seems like there is an extra gear to a good offense that the Rockets haven't found yet.

Amen seems to have gotten worse at shooting 3s, even corners. He has made 1 out of his last 15 threes.

Reed brings the ball up court and gives it up, deferring to Durant more often than not - while he's not in his preferred spots.

Where they catch the ball matters - Jokic in the high post Durant / Sengun out high somewhere. They all get doubled, but where they get doubled, they really aren't a threat to score making it harder to take advantage of the double.

Reed won't ever learn to play the point if all he does is give it to Durant 30 feet from the basket.

Get to your spots, then get the ball ....

Agree that getting the ball in a spot matters. Defenses try to stop it. I don't think Reed is good enough at this moment to get the ball to Durant in Durant's preferred space, and also get Durant open in his preferred space. At this time, Reed's best PG skill is to force the other team to deny his 3, and then get into the paint and force the defense to step up. He wasn't making his shots so defnse didn't really try to deny Reeds MR game until the 2nd half.
Durant is really good. He has times that the age shows. Mostly in turnovers. I think Reed and Durant need more time together. I don't think Durant getting the ball at 30 feet will go away at Durant and Reed's current skill level. I do want to see more Reed and Sengun PnR, but I don't see it coming from Durant touches.

When Durant gets the ball at the top and works to beat his man into his midrange spot, he almost never looks for open teammates unless there's obvious one wide open under the basket.

Durant is going to die of minutes played by January 15.

the eye test says isaiah was a great player and ferocious competitor. when i read or or hear words from zeke, the brain test says he's not the sharpest tool in the shed.

Its true they just run from one side to the other jacking up threes I said this in another thread a week ago. Its also funny that the free throw rate is the same despite this game being less physical.

Lumping Sengun in with KD as a bad point is ridiculous lol Also Im not blaming Sengun that the only person who actually cuts when he has the ball is Amen. Everyone else just stares at him. If he gives the ball up and tries to repost in todays NBA he doesnt get a repost they just jack up a contested three you can see the shear disapointment on his face when they do that. This is why the international game is catching up to the nba. They are so much smarter now.
