Was talking about the Spurs, Castle is 21, Harper 19, Wemby 21.

There is going to be teams with younger players because the Cooper Flaggs or Cameron Boozers, Darryn Petersons are so mature.

If any of those join an already decent team defensively, the team is going to be great.

Ok. Well id much rather go against these spurs than the dynasty warriors.

Theres always young talent in the league.

Also people overlook with SGA who joined the league late in his 21-22 and he had 2 seasons of big injuries like Embiid.

He is basically only feeling like a 25 year old because he almost did not play in 2 seasons.

It is even crazier if you think he became elite in like 3 seasons......because he did not play that much earlier in his career.

Sure, I want to watch the Warriors now 11 years later, everyone is shooting the high volume 3s.....

And defenders are better at closing out on shooters, very interested.

Especially when every other team has been emulating their playing style now.

I am not totally giving up on him to take a leap on offense. But I agree that it doesn't look likely as time goes by.

His defense and rebounding is not just "sometimes." He has visibly improved on defense. And he is a good rebounder. He's playing with guys like Sengun, Adams, and Amen who gobble up rebounds like breakfast cereal.

I don't disagree. But he's playing with a great low post player. So his role is to stretch the floor to open up the interior. That's his importance to the team.

We have two non-outside shooting high usage guys in the starting lineup. We need lots of floor spacers. Jabari just needs to hit those open shots and they need to find him more, him and Reed. If Jabari hits 1 more 3s a game on 2 more shots, he'll be an 18 ppg scorer.

At this point, anyone who can't see it...
I don't know what to say.

Jabari is a leader on D, that stretches the floor and hits the boards. He's coming along nicely.
I agree with those who say he'd be putting up around 20 & 10 somewhere else.
Obviously KD is helping him too.
Also, big men mature late. .

No matter what happens from here on in, Jabari should be a decade plus starter at the 4 here barring a trade.

we need amen or Res to be dependable scorers. It’s unknown about KDs future.

I’m glad and appreciative to ahe Sengun but he’ll need help if kd health orange catch up to him.

When the Miami Heat formed their big three, it worked because Bosh settled into more of a super role player instead of trying to be "the guy" like he was in Toronto.

Same with Ray Allen in Boston. Bari even talked about this recently about how he'd always been the 1st option offensively but in the NBA realizes he needs to pick his spots.

The best teams in the league usually have top tier guys who they go to relentlessly and force you to deal with them almost every possession. Whereas we still kind of go off the reservation at times and have 4th or 5th options high jack possessions.

Saying all that. I dont disagree with you. I think in the half court offense Bari should be the third guy and not Amen...Especially when he has favorable matchups. But I put that on Ime. The offense doesnt spam the things they are most successful at.

Agreed!! James Worthy would have been a primary scorer on 20+ teams in the league. On the showtime Lakers he was a 3rd or 4th option.

Almost all players who make it to the NBA have been the first or at least second option in lower level competition.

Shane Battier was a 20 ppg scorer in his senior year at Duke, shooting 42% from 3. In the NBA, he's a 3&D role player, a darn good one.

The new Teflon don. No matter how crappy he plays, he still is a good player.

Bro we got Sengun, Jabari, Amen and Reed. We literally flipped the other draft pick for ****ing Kevin god damned Durant and this dude's first thought is to get mad because the Spurs got Wemby and some unproven rookie?

Count your blessings people. Top 5 in both offensive and defensive ratings (thanks in part to having a 6-11 utility knife at PF) and still wants to complain. Crazy.

I think he meant on the Macro level, we don't have to throw things around in the micro level.

Dylan Harper is very mature for a 19 year old, both his parents are also great ballers, his dad Ron obviously Bulls and Lakers legend, his mom was a Filipina athlete. -- Not to mention Castle. Waiting on Carter Bryant who is going to take longer.

He mentioned Sengün as well, probably did not care to include Amen and Reed .......but sort of botching the 2nd/3rd Picks ......that is something to point out.

It spoke to the Embarrassment of Riches that the Rockets still have that it did not turn sour.

I don't mind people criticizing Jabari and Amen

but to put them at the same level as Jalen?

Jalen is proven to be nothing but a front running loser who disappeared in the playoffs

while Amen and Jabari are winners who stepped up in the playoffs

in jalens last year, he was last of the starters in BPM and Net Rating

this year Amen is 1st and Jabari is 2nd of the starters in BPM and Net Rating

He has the best TS%, BPM and WS/48 in his entire career this year. PPG and APG also. Not sure how you're saying he's not improving.

Now, they aren't eye popping numbers by any means, I was hoping for more when we drafted him (like a 40+% 3pt shooter taking 8+ 3s a game), but he has been improving.

Don't want to hijack the thread, but I just don't see the Spurs lasting very long, given that Wemby has, at best, 4-5 years of career left in his body before he starts breaking down considerably. Even with the gloves on right now, he still routinely misses time with all sorts of random injuries. He still hasn't even made a deep playoff run on those legs... regular season we all know teams mostly coast during games... put Wemby in playoff intensity and let's see how his body holds up. Spurs might be better off entertaining trade offers for Wemby right now (but obviously won't).

Hopefully Wemby starts breaking down after Spurs give him a supermax :) and no sooner than that.

I probably give him the Yao ---- 9 years probably. I dislike his Frenchie attitude but I am not rooting for that.

And nope, he could win in about 1 year, he could still technically win a couple championships.

Sports science has come a long way, they made ACL and Achilles tears look like it is not career ending at all.
