That’s why I said they would play 2 games each weekend. I am joking of course. That is like the Warrior movie. I think they fight 4 times in days or something lol. Good movie but not realistic in that regard.
Did these ADs not read the things they were agreeing to when they did it?? That said, a 12-0 ND that beats up on G5 teams is going to be ranked in the top 12 or 16, so this is kind of self-defeating.
What is very telling is the proposed B1G private equity deal is 5x this amount. Michigan and USC are dissenting. Michigan has actually threatened to leave the B1G over this. At some point, private equity will have their say in all of the P4 conferences (well, maybe not the ACC). It's just a matter of time and money. As a survival move, it appears the Big 12 will be the first one to pull the trigger. If/when Michigan and USC fall in line, the B1G will proceed and the SEC will be forced to follow.
The key distinction here (as I understand it) is that this isn’t really a PE deal because there’s no E changing hands here. No one is taking equity. It’s like a big line of credit. It’s private capital as opposed to private equity. Obviously the numbers would look different if they were getting some form of equity, as is proposed in the Big 10 deal
For those of you desperate for college football: FCS Championship: Villanova at Tarleton State, 11am Army-Navy, 2PM Boise State-Washington, 7PM (could be a very fun game, but Gronk is the "Host" so I imagine he'll have an insufferable amount of screen time) eta: I'd rather watch Lake Travis vs North Shore in the 6A State Semis but I don't think it's on tv or even streaming anywhere
Excellent work! I'm lucky I even saw that you replied, this is yet another example of why @Clutch needs to give us a subforum-specific ignore list option. YOU HAVE A GOOD DAY TOO
Haven't seen it yet, but that's what I was told. Sounded absolutely brutal but I need to see it for myself.
The Blake Horvath "gets helmet stuck on the ball as he's going over/through the pile and then it pops straight up and he twists to catch it in the air and then stretches for the 1D line before he lands" was just a stupidly great play. Not sure I've ever seen anything like that one before.
All kinds of crazy bounces that game. The fumble on the 1 that bounced off the Army player's hands and back into one of the Navy players was another one of those that pretty much determined the outcome. It's okay though, while it's always annoying to lose to Navy, they were HIGHLY favored in this one.
