You're a proven liar, just like your spiritual father. Lying is natural for you.

    John 8:44
44 You belong to your father, the devil, and you want to carry out your father’s desires. He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies.

Neither party thinks deficits or the debt are important when they are in power. Both b**** about it when they are out of power. That means neither of them care about it at all. No one (and by no one, I mean less that 1% of voters in the most recent Presidential election) votes for the party (or parties) that actually want to stop adding to the debt and eventually pay it off.

Unfortunately and sad to say, neither Trump, nor his cabinet, nor the GOP care... As long as the people keep voting them in, they will keep doing what they are doing...

They are all selfish. It's greed. As long as they can fly around the world in luxury, dine in luxury, and get the best seats and best hotels to any event or celebration they want to as President, VP, family or staff, screw you common taxpayers. Some just take it to a whole different level, and the personal grift for the family can now be millions and billions.

Indiana did the right thing. IN Republicans had the most to lose, not only their political careers but potentially the safety of their families. The brave souls who stood up and did the right thing deserve real recognition, though in today’s climate, staying out of sight may sadly be the wiser choice.

With a 40-10 Republican IN Senate, this was a clear rebuke. Republicans in NH, KS, and NE have also pushed back against WH gerrymandering. It may be a small trend, but it matters. An unpopular lame-duck POTUS is being rejected at the state level. Federalism remains a check that could still hold

    State Sen. Chris Garten (R-IN):

    Lisa Desjardins:

I want to talk about those personal reasons as well. The president and his team put a lot of pressure on you. His rhetoric has had a number of effects.

One thing he posted on Facebook at one point was, he used a slur, "r****ded." I know that's something that affected you. You are also being affected by threats right now. Where are you staying? Where is your family? And what's the president's responsibility for bringing down the rhetoric right now?

    State Sen. Chris Garten (R-IN):

Well, what's interesting is, he hasn't brought the tone down, which I was kind of surprised about. And it seems like it's just kind of amplifying it. But, hopefully, things will calm down.

My family and my children, my wife and my children are staying at a friend's house. I'm staying elsewhere as well. So we're going to try to get everybody back together for the weekend and as we approach the holiday season.

    Lisa Desjardins:

What do you make of this effort overall to try and affect the 2026 election by changing all these maps? You obviously were against it in Indiana.

    State Sen. Mike Bohacek:

I don't feel comfortable with it. I think it's bad policy.

So to now say, well, let's take this opportunity to politically gerrymander them just — it doesn't feel right. And my constituents don't like it. To them, it feels like we're trying to rig the system and steal and using other states' bad behavior as the excuse. That's just not how folks in Indiana are.

    Lisa Desjardins:

You have heard that from voters specifically?

    State Sen. Mike Bohacek:

I have. Yes, I have heard — obviously, you have voters that are pretty strong on the other side of this issue. And I'm happy they are. And they made their voices clear and known.

But, by and large, members of my constituency overwhelmingly did not want to do this. They did not want the districts to be redrawn. And it became even stronger after they saw the maps. So when they saw the maps and they saw that, in some cases, they're going to be represented by somebody that's in a community that's not even close to being of their same interests, even they were concerned.

Even people that were in favor of it on its face, when they saw the maps, changed their minds.

this one doesn’t make any sense to me

    Why would he be surprised?

In the last 100 years one Democrat President (Bill Clinton) with a Republican Congress (Speaker Newt Gingrich) had a budget surplus over a four-year term. No, neither party cares about deficits.

I can’t know his reasoning, but skepticism toward media can sometimes lead people to underestimate what Trump is actually saying directly. Looking at his unedited statements helps explain why escalation shouldn’t be surprising.
