Just finished House of Guinness. For some reason I liked it. S2 will probably be in 2028 and I'll completely forget about it by then.
I've been very disappointed with the writing on a couple of shows recently. The most disappointing has been The Lowdown that was created by the same guy who did Reservation Dogs, which is incredible. I don't know how this show has 98% on Rotten Tomatoes. Aside from most of the episodes just being kind of meh, the end of the season includes unbelievably stupid actions from two major characters that just actually made me angry because they were so stupid. A close runner up is Last Frontier, which was also generally meh, but there was one episode towards the end of the season that was almost entirely exposition. I couldn't believe that a major production had writing so bad. It was like a high school student who didn't know how to use ChatGPT had written it.
Watched 1.5 episodes of Dispatches from Elsewhere. Thought it was an interesting premise at first, but by the second episode decided to look on the internet to be spoilered as I was getting suspicious it was going to suck. I'm certainly glad I didn't waste my time, absolutely not my type of show. 2 out of 10 stars.
I can't relate at all to a bunch of over-the-hill Gen-X guys attempting to relive their glory days in pursuit of a paycheck. Nope.
Down Cemetery Road: 7 / 10 - Meh murder mystery drama series from the UK. The first half of the series is better than the second half. It gets predictable towards the end.
Resident Alien - Decently entertaining show that gets bogged down in meandering storytelling appealing to its core audience and somewhat overstays its welcome during its 4 seasons. Worth a watch, but not by much. Be ready to skip and fast forward alot. 5 out of 10 stars.
