Yeah, he's in the 12-15: QB range even though PFF doesn't say that. He's currently being paid about right for his level of play. When he starts making 60 mil we can have a different discussion.

The problem is we aren’t going to be able to have a reasonable idea of how good Stroud will be before we have to pay him. He has NEVER had an even decent offensive line. I think he gets his bag, unless he totally blows it the rest of this year. Our defense is too good to get a high draft pick for a QB for a long time.

Caley has zero creativity. Where are the screens, the draws, etc? His play-calling is more predictable than Slowik's. Sadly, Slowik may have been better overall. This offense could be at the next level with competent leadership. I doubt Tank Dell will make it in the NFL, too small. Need to acquire a "burner."

I appreciate the tush push implementation this season. It's been helpful.

I think we need continuity at the OC and on the O-line. Should we draft OL, yes, but wholesale changes to the offense is the wrong way to go. Demeco obviously wants a stout defense and a ball control offense. Go heavy on the run attack, with OL and a stud RB. Woody is a great in a tandem, but not a bell cow. It will also make play action more viable.

Finding a franchise QB is so dam hard and takes a few crappy seasons to get a high draft pick. The fact is CJ will be paid regardless, does he deserve $55 million, No but I also don't think guys like Trevor L, Tua T, Brock P, Kyler M deserve what they're making, it's all about what the market will bear. Jerry J F`d up with Dak, he could have signed him earlier for the going rate but cost himself a ton of money, at this point your paying for potential on what you've seen so far...................will Nick pull a Nico and try and sign him earlier at a decent cost? Personally, I hate giving such a large % of the salary cap to one guy and limits what you can put around him, but teams like the Eagles do it but at some point I think it comes back to bite ya in the butt but we shall see

What's the count now: 5 1st downs and 5 presnap penalties?

Just needs more practice. Without them it would've been 4ths and whatever anyways, or punts.

Well that narrative changed pretty quickly to fit your viewpoint… so CJ is designing the offense, handpicking coordinators and calling plays? Is he telling them who to trade and draft on the o-line too?

    this isn’t the nba.

(fwiw, I want CJ doing more hurry up especially whe they have a certain defense out there, and he admitted as much… but they’re going conservative because they know they can’t protect with any semblance of consistency)

Well, with the rate they've been "solving" the presnap penalty issue over the past 3+ years I'm sure they'll have it figured out by 2028 or so :)

I’d rather them spend time practicing more fundamental and inventive plays… but yes, he was able to make a counter 14 weeks into the season (that took the league 1 week to stop).

Exactly. I started this thread saying thats exactly what Stroud needs....Weapons!

    I think he is sorely missing Tank and Mixon. When you think about it like this, how can he be at his best;

    1) An inexperienced OC
    2) Avg to Below avg OL
    3) Missing two of his top three weapons
    4) Lack of offensive creativity by the OC

It amazes me how some think he's suppose to rise above all of those obstacles and be at his best. When Tom Brady faced those same obstacles in NE, he bailed and went to Tampa

I totally agree with the needing a RB, a healthy Mixon makes this team as good as anybody in the NFL and makes them a SB favorite coming out of the AFC IMHO. Mixon was that good. With Mixon a lot of your points wouldn't be valid and the Texans would have a couple more wins IMHO. A 10-3 team with Mills starting 3 games, we would be having a much different discussion. I dont think most on this MB understand how really good Mixon is/was.

Bring on the Love. Mixon can’t stay on the field. We knew injuries were a concern when we brought him on. Demeco wants to win with defense and ball control, he needs a bell cow running back and some beef up front.

Love would be an absolute win. Not sure we will have a chance but I would trade up if he’s falling a bit

If the Texans are lower 20's or 30's in the draft, would you trade Washingston's #2 to trade up and get Love?

Basically a #1 and a #2 to move up to the 15 range

I would absolutely do that. Love is Bijan-esque imo. Hate trading that much for RBs but damn that dude is a stud
