Delp and Koziol would be the TEs I would look at. Delp is probably the best athlete at TE in this draft, maybe something untapped there. Koziol has the frame to be a matchup nightmare. Stowers as well, if we want to take one a little earlier
We have Schultz, Stover, and Jordan all returning for 26'. I suspect that our focus should be elsewhere but I'm not adverse to drafting a TE IF he's damn good and the draft price is right. Will Kacmarek of Ohio State is one that I like a lot - at the right price.
If Love's there I would pick him and there should be a really good OL there early in the 2nd with the Redskins pick, probably the Texans pick in the 2nd rd too.
I keep going back and forth on Sadiq /Love/Mauigoa as to who I want Ryans/Caserio to pick. I'm leaning Love at this point, which means he wont be there when the Texans pick.
Delp/Luckey if he comes out and Sadiq are all good blockers but not great. I see Sadiq as a better Harold Fannin. If you want to see a blocking TE checkout NC St. TE Cody Hardy. That's a guy I hope Ryans Caserio picks in the 4th.5th rd range. People mover and that's what the Texans are missing IMHO.
If Sadiq falls to the Redskins/Texans pick in the 2nd he would be my pick. How would you feel about this if the draft fell this way? 1. Love 2, Sadiq 2. Gennings Dunker 3. Xavier Chaplin
I'd love to have Love but I don't think he'll be available and I prefer to use our top-3 picks on OL, then a RB to join Woody, and then some depth pieces in the late rounds. This is assuming we don't sign/trade anyone else, of course. Sadiq is up and down and he's a good player but, again, I think we have greater needs.
Shultz can’t block, but he has been a very good receiver this year. I doubt we are 8-5 without him. They very well may release him, but I hope they have a better plan than Jordan and Stover.
Both leave us with two unanswered questions. Can their skill sets be incorporated into the offense and WILL IT WORK?
Caleb Lomu gets a lot of hype but his numbers don't jump out. I want to see numbers that show he's DOMINANT in college. However, that's not the case with Lomu. He's NOT dominating and yet he's playing in the Big12. Maybe he just needs more development. He's a pass for me.
He has been very good compared to the rest of our receivers outside of Nico who has missed a lot of games. He has been a good safety valve for Stroud. I think he is mediocre, but TE is too important for Stroud to leave to Jordan, Stover or a third/fourth round pick. We have too many other needs to fill than to have to go shopping for a TE. RB, OL and a linebacker better than tototo or whatever his name is to name a few.
Did a mock over at https://www.nflmockdraftdatabase.com/ Yes. I double-dipped at RB... especially with that kind of value. Jones was my target at IOL, but the value on Bisontis & Pieper (both A+ grades by the system) was too good to pass up. Majority of my picks were 5th round or later so I was ok swinging for the fences. Also, picked up an insane amount of 2027 draft capital (some of which could be used to acquire veteran players) My Selections 14 Jeremiyah Love RB Notre Dame A 43 A'Mauri Washington DL Oregon A+ 85 Chase Bisontis IOL Texas A&M A+ 100 Logan Jones IOL Iowa C 138 Nick Singleton RB Penn State A+ 167 Kade Pieper IOL Iowa A+ 176 Jacarrius Peak OT NC State D+ 227 Marlin Klein TE Michigan D 229 Chris Hilton WR LSU F 233 Arion Carter LB Tennessee F 237 Sav'ell Smalls TE Colorado F 241 Tony Rojas LB Penn State F 246 Duce Robinson WR Florida State B+ Trades HOU receives 2026 1.14 + 2026 5.176 KC receives 2026 1.22 + 2026 3.66 HOU receives 2026 2.43 + 2026 3.97 + 2027 7th + 2027 7th MIN receives 2026 2.37 HOU receives 2026 2.58 + 2026 3.100 + 2026 7.246 JAC receives 2026 2.53 HOU receives 2026 3.85 + 2026 7.227 + 2027 2nd + 2027 3rd + 2027 3rd + 2027 5th MIA receives 2026 2.58 HOU receives 2027 3rd + 2027 3rd + 2027 5th + 2027 7th + 2027 7th + 2027 7th JAC receives 2026 3.97 HOU receives 2026 4.115 + 2026 7.229 + 2027 4th + 2027 5th + 2027 5th DAL receives 2026 4.108 HOU receives 2026 7.233 + 2027 3rd + 2027 4th + 2027 6th IND receives 2026 4.115 HOU receives 2026 4.138 + 2026 6.185 + 2027 3rd + 2027 5th NO receives 2026 4.121 HOU receives 2026 5.167 + 2027 4th + 2027 7th BAL receives 2026 5.162 HOU receives 2026 6.201 + 2027 5th + 2027 5th + 2027 7th + 2027 7th LAR receives 2026 6.185 HOU receives 2027 4th + 2027 4th + 2027 6th + 2027 6th + 2027 6th + 2027 6th + 2027 7th NYJ receives 2026 6.201 2027 additional picks 2nd round picks - 1 3rd round picks - 6 4th round picks - 5 5th round picks - 7 6th round picks - 5 7th round picks - 9
