Mad props to Stone though but it is sort of ironic KD has always joined the best teams but OKC does not need him in the slightest and he has to make due with the 2nd bests.

    • The gap between Stone and Presti is probably an entire planet right now......

    • OKC can play virtually any styles of basketball other than probably the Bad Boys style....due to them being sort of too polite.

Over the last year, the criticisms against Stone have gone from never traded for an all-star, bad trader, and bad at draft pick asset management to he's not the best GM.

    Goal posts keep moving.

Well, yeah, one year ago, Presti was a brilliant GM but not the God he was viewed after the 24-1 start and going for 74+ Wins either.

And a decent chance at winning both a championship and a Top 5 Pick in the same season.

Things are fluid and keep on happening. The Top GMs are getting better a lot more quickly.
It is like you shot with rifles last year and now you got hit by missiles and rocket lauchers.

Somehow, some are still arguing and playing checkers.

Things are fluid. Missiles and rocket launchers aren't built in a day. Presti built and was stockpiling the missiles and rocket launchers for all to see well before a year ago. It was obvious the missles and rocket launchers would beat the bows and arrows as long as there wasn't a lot of equipment failure. Drafting Sorber is not why OKC is great this year, though it may be in future years.

Funny thing about checkers...one has to be able to look at a position, and understand what is likely to happen going forward. Seeing that OKC was going to be a juggernaut was not a hard postiion to access a year ago.

Stone may not be the best, but the Rockets being recognized as a top front office should not be surprising for people that can see what a front office has done and what is expected to happen going forward. I can't guarantee championships, but a lot of wins for a long time is a likely outcome (i.e., better than most GMs).

He'll get his and a statue once the Larry O'Brien is H-town, you can be sure of that.

Maybe the statue has be approved by Til Ambassador.....

Nah, Thunder were questioned during the Playoffs, rightfully because they have not won before 1 year ago........

Lets revisit after we win (some? many? A?) playoff series. Thanks for your consideration on this matter.

Bad trader, never traded for an all-star, bad draft pick management to he has to have a statue erected....those goal posts are moving faster than if they were being carried by Tech fans on their way to be launched into the A&M section.

It is fine to question. Though, one's opinion should not change much when something happens that is expected to happen. Frankly, I thought OKC performed poorly in the playoffs compared to how good they are. OKC going from the best team by far to what they have done so far this season should not affect an opinion on Presti much. I will say, I did not expect this level of dominance, but it wasn't like it was out of the realm of possibility either.
