7 months after Trump had liberation day, there is no trade agreement with China. But plenty of TACO moves. Trump Accepts Xi Jinping's invitation to visit China in April 2026
In a early morning panic rant on Social Media---bragging about his massively unpopular tariff policy the convicted felon is attempting to coerce the Supreme Court thru sleight-of-hands, the dotard would have the world to believe that he did not imposed tariffs during Trump 1.0. He did, the tariffs under Trump 1.0 was an abject failure.
9 months after Trump's self-declared liberation day, still no trade agreement with the Trillion $ elephant in international trade, but the 78-year old convicted felon keeps on TACOing,
I'm no defender of Trump or tariffs, but those numbers seem quite exaggerated. I'm the grocery purchaser for our family. And we keep to the same items most of the time, creatures of habit. If my groceries went up 85% this year I would have noticed it. I don't keep receipts year over year, but I would estimate potentially 40% on groceries. Not great, but not 85%. It's hard to be precise on utilities since so much up here in the northeast is weather dependent and supply and demand is the ultimate factor. But again, no way my electricity has gone up 78%. I would have switched to solar if that was the case. My health insurance went up $6 per week, but then I added my wife because Her's went up exponentially. Housing, don't know I have been in my current house for ten years now and just added the military STAR for taxes
speaking of TACO, here is the newest TACO move by Trump 2.0 Trump OKs sale of Nvidia's H200 chips used in AI to “approved customers” in China the H200, is not Nvidia’s most advanced product. NVDA's most advanced chips, called Blackwell and the upcoming Rubin, were not part of what Trump approved. But there is a "work-around" for China, as Saudi Arabia has been approved to buy Blackwell and the upcoming Rubin.
Those aren't the percentage of increase. Those are the percentage of those surveyed that have noticed an increase.
Thanks for the clarification. I'm at work and just glanced at it in-between meetings. Did not have the sound on.
Honestly, it is misleading even if you listened to it, with just a slight bit of context given at the end. Maybe there was more context before the clip started, but it should be printed on the the chart what it is. Here is how it looked on Fox, who actually collected the data: The crazy thing is, if it is intentionally misleading, it is beyond stupid because it makes anyone think it is fake, because like you said, we'd notice that big of an increase in a single year on those items.
The Economist's take on this latest TACO Trump 2.0’s half-assed move to get China hooked on Nvidia chips Trump 2,0 is tearing up America’s export-control policy ....
Trump 2.0's tariffs, just like Trump 1.0's, have been to counter / contain / lessen China's trade surplus some 8 months after Trump 2.0's self-declared liberation day, China's trade surplus tops record $1 trillion its one-belt-one-road initiatives are paying off---leading to impressive November 2025 growth--- despite 28% fall in shipments to US,
Don't expect much sales of the H200 in China, Chinese government will push the local companies to use local chips instead.
in his last Fed meeting, Jerome Powell reiterates his description of tariffs-induced inflation. Fed's Powell Says Inflation Overshoot Caused by Trump 2.0'sTariffs Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell said Wednesday that the current overshooting of the central bank's 2% inflation target is mostly the result of President Donald Trump's import tax hikes. "It's really tariffs that are causing the most of the inflation overshoot," Powell said after the latest Fed meeting, reiterating his expectation the tariff impact on inflation is likely to be a "one-time price increase."
