No way Jose. Talk about upsetting the apple cart. Neither KD or Giannis want to be no 2. Plus, in 3 years Amen is going to be greater than Giannis.

If DFS was healthy, it would be a good trade...without Bari or Tari, we'll be too thin at the wing

I wouldn't give up on Amen quite yet...he's a consistent jumpshot away from averaging 20/7/5...he's only 22 years old and playing the hardest position to learn in the NBA: point guard -> in my opinion he's playing out of position (best at playing a forward).
Here's my take: I would prefer centering around a trade package of Reed for Lamelo Ball.
As I mentioned in posts earlier this season, Reed's defense is not always good enough to justify/match his offensive production...I dont care about +/- metrics, eye ball test shows if he keeps getting hunted/beat on defense, it shifts the momentum of games hence why Reed haven't been closing out games lately or starting.
LaMelo has the physical traits to be a decent defender and honestly he hasn't been part of a winning culture (the Hornets are historically a losing franchise)...I think Ime would bring the best out of Lamelo just like he did for Jalen Green. In addition, we'll have FVV to mentor Lamelo which is what he desperately needs in this point of his career.

Apparently he's the new punching boy for a few posters now that JG is gone

I don't get it but I guess there always has to be a guy for people to come out of the woodwork and complain about any time we lose a ballgame

Some people were just looking for someone to blame after the Dallas loss - never mind they were missing both Sengun and Adams - your 1b and your defensive anchor. It is a team game afterall ....

The other thing is, we weren't supposed to be in this position, FVV was supposed to be the starting PG with this being a growth year for Amen / Reed. That FVV injury pushed them both, and the team into a very uncomfortable position .... Out of the frying pan, into the fire and I don't think either of them was ready for that.

I'm still very high on both of them individually and as a pair, they are complimentary. But that's "in the future."

But let's be honest - Amen has to shoot better than .205 from 3 or at the very least come up with some sort of mid range shot that he can use to force defenders to account for in space, otherwise they just back off and dare him to shoot or drive into a packed paint.
It's taken its toll statistically this year - he's dropped 80 points on his FG% from .557 to .477 and turnovers per 36 are up from 2.2 to 2.7 compared to last year.

In the offseason, I think they should really emphasize the pick and roll game along with his shooting. Both Amen & Reed are averaging .79 points per possession as the pick and roll ball handler with turnover frequency in the 18 percent range. Both in the 36th percentile overall.

As they said on LOR, the Rockets were missing a respectable starting line-up.
    PG: FVV
    2G: DFS
    SF: Tari
    PF: Alp
    C: Adams

You literally could win a lot of games with just that starting 5. It's an insane thought.
