Even half of the SEC being "good" is still way more than any other conference. Sticking with A&M specifically, they played the worst Auburn, Florida, Arkansas, LSU, and South Carolina teams we have seen in a long long time. And yet they still played more ranked conference opponents than Ohio State, Indiana, Texas Tech, etc...I agree that it is good or bad luck. But unless you think another P4 conferences have more "good" teams, your chances of playing those teams are much more in the SEC than in those conferences. I agree that the goal of sports is entertainment, but the goal for most programs should be winning championships. The problem is college football isn't requiring or spreading out the responsibility of the former among teams. It's crazy to think Texas could possibly play a Top 10 OOC game to start each season while some CFP teams won't even play a single P4 team.

I am definitely NOT a Notre Dame sympathizer, but I can't blame them for being ticked off at the ACC's politicking for Miami at their expense. That said, they are probably just blowing a bunch of hot air and won't do anything about it. I doubt they decide to join the "Big Mistake" conference any time soon.
Eh, they act like they're above the ACC when it comes to football. If they want a major conference to politic on their behalf, they should join one. The ACC owes their football program nothing when they aren't a full member.
No, you misunderstood. They felt the ACC should have been neutral between them and Miami. Instead, the ACC took sides in Miami's behalf.
From what I read, the ACC is not behind the programming of the ACC network, so I don’t know whose idea it was to show the Miami-Notre Dame game multiple times over the weekend.
But of course they are going to back their own football member school over ND. The conference won’t see a single dime with a ND playoff run.

ND specifically didn't want to be part of ACC Football when they were given the opportunity because they want all the money for themselves. ND making it would have given ND $4,000,000 and the ACC nothing. Miami making it gives the ACC schools $4,000,000 to split amongst them. I don't have a problem with what the ACC did here - they are defending their schools.
Although I question their judgement, I don't have a problem with what the ACC did either. Anything that ticks off ND is fine with me. Just showing why ND was offended. If ND completely removes their football program from the ACC, the conference will lose the additional TV revenue and exposure that comes from having ND games on their schedule. There is a reason why they bent over backwards to meet ND's demands in the first place. I'm most curious to see if ND's bark has any bite. Due to recent bitterness with the B1G, they aren't an option. Maybe the Big 12.
I wonder if ND is even allowed to partner with another conference on football only with their current agreements. I can't see them bailing on the ACC on all the other sports - they want to be associated academically and culturally with those ACC schools as opposed to the B12 schools. Then again, that's what Texas said when it was a "never" to the SEC during all the previous realignments - they wanted to associate with P12 and B10 schools but then money won out.

They did this for all the bubble teams. It’s not like they targeted ND. This wouldn’t be so silly if ND hadn’t lost to Miami. Like… how do you whine about not getting a spot over a team you lost to when you have identical records?
To be fair, they've explictly said this isn't their complaint. Their issue is that it flipped during the final week - that it made no sense that players and fans and schools were being told the committee thought ND was the better team for the last many weeks and that they just just changed their mind this week despite no new information. And I'd argue they are right about that - having these weekly rankings is dumb if they don't actually mean anything in the process. If Miami was always ahead of ND or had caught them in a week they both played and Miami was judged to look better, it would have made much more sense. Just last week, Miami beating down a ranked Pitt team on the road would have been an opportunity to move them ahead if they wanted to.
Their only agreement is with the ACC in all other sports...I'm going to assume (correctly?) that they can do whatever the hell they want to, because they're Notre Dame.
