Tari was getting 23 minutes. I'd say just give most of those to the backcourt and play small more often. Josh and Reed are each averaging around 23mpg and playing well. Holiday has played well in limited minutes too. We could basically play 5 out sometimes now that Alpi can shoot the three ball.
Does anyone know what happened? Why was Tari mad at Adams? Adams is probably one of the nicest guys on the team. Can't imagine he'd offend any teammate.
He might be going after someone else and Adams was stopping him. Whatever the case, it doesn't seem to matter much. Adams was the one helping him off the court the other night when he was injured.
I am waiting as well but I would not read too much into it, adrenaline kicks in for athletes way more.....I am mad at family members and I storm off..... until it cools off. It really happens to anyone..... just imagine being on a battle field every other night.....of ultra competitive nature.
Im sure Tari is sad that he didnt get a deal done but he is also playing better than he ever has. I think you guys just love inventing villains.
I agree Sengun will be a superstar if nto already and could be generational like Joker it will just be in his own way because he isnt Joker. People keep conflating the two things to troll you when you have a point.
I was just sharing the video. I didn't know about the incident with Jabari, but I don't care either way. Nobody from the Rockets organization is paying me to debate with fans. Time will tell.
He has played nearly a full season less than Jabari(and it might be a full season less by the time he comes back) - I would say that's a pretty big difference in production. Per game only tells part of the story if he isn't available roughly every 4th game. Does anyone know when Tari is coming back? I get the bruise - makes sense given the injury at the time but I feel like I recover from bruises faster at my advanced age than Tari does so I get the impression it wasn't just a bruise.
I don't remember it being just a bruise though. Last I heard, it was an oblique strain which is extremely painful + really hard to sleep with
His extension is based on future games, not past. He had a major injury that required a long rehab and load management even once he was back. From what I've read, this is a long recovery, but as long as it wasn't in the foot, it didn't recur. I'd take some injury risk with this injury, but assuming he will miss as many games going forward as he has probably is not a good assumption. I'm more concerned with the lack of offensive rebounds and lower attempts at the rim this season than his injury history at this point.
That is true if he can stay on the court. We need him badly this year. Hope he makes it back and stays back.
He's been shooting a lot more from 3 (and hitting). It might have some correlation: shooting more from distance, shooting less at rim, spending less time around the rim, getting less offensive rebounds. He is also making a higher percentage at rim. That might have something to do with getting fewer offensive rebounds off of his own misses. I don't know if the more outside presence is by design. Shooting more 3s means he's driving less. Does that relate to averting contact because of injury concerns?
THe Rockets have the greatest offensive rebounding team (or close to it, I haven't checked in a week). The Rockets are +17.9% in offensive, defensive and total rebounding when Eason is on the floor. Last year it was +11.8%. "concerned with the lack of offensive rebounding" is kind of a wild thing to say; it's like saying one's concerned Kevin Durant isn't taking enough contested fadeways or playing enough minutes.
I was going to say the same thing. You can’t get the ball if it has already been gobbled up by Adam’s Sengun and Capela. You can sit out on the 3 point line and hit an open 3 from said rebound while having the highest 3pt % in the league. Sheesh
Adams is doing a great job rebounding on the offensive glass. Eason not so much this season, but plays with Adams a lot. Maybe Eason's problem is that Adams is getting all the offensive boards. That said, Tari has in the past provided a decent portion of his offensive value by getting offensive boards and easy putbacks. If Tari can keep shooting threes at 50% or better, it won't be an issue. If he regresses to his career 37% shooting number, he just isn't that valuable an offensive player without offensive rebounding and off-ball rim pressure. I don't see Adams going anywhere so if he's why Tari's offensive rebounding numbers have tanked, Tari just isn't going to be as valuable as he's been in the past when healthy.
Ahhh - I saw a bruise initially post game but it sounds like the details have been updated. Thank you for the update!
Yeah, it's a shame. I hope for him, and the Rockets, should they choose to commit to him long-term that's just an early career issue. He has a lot to offer.
