I still fully believe it was a smart to take him where we did. He has superstar tools and that's the kind of gamble you take once you get past the lottery picks. However some people just have a loser mentality that can't be fixed.

Even on the literal worst team in the league I'm sure he still believes he's being screwed over and not that he needs to work on his approach to the game.

 

You think he’s going to last 4 more years in the NBA at this rate? Hes burning through his chances fast.

With a member name like yours, I would think you'd understand Scam just needs more time to mature. After all he's only 21, which excuses him for everything.

 

Not that it truly matters in the Grand Scheme of things, would have been great to know the in depth of whatever he has been going through.

Some guys just need to go overseas or go through a tough environment.......we have seen KPJ getting back pretty soon and he did a lot of shet in the public.......

Even his reports are like his game .....very up and down and under the radar.......

He has to slim down again and move better for sure......the 21 year old thing? It works in his favor if he can actually go to a foreign place and start afresh.

I think if we heard that basketball is only a side hustle to him like with Royce White, many would not have given a ish.

As long as he is still loving to hoop, there is at least some glimmer of hope, maybe not in the NBA right now.

His talents are there, he can transfer it to his son, and voila, you got yourself another player.

I don't get what people here were still seeing Whitmore after his bad season last year and willign to extend some sort of "well he's up & down".

He's mostly just down.

Cam Whitmore for 3 years on defense now pretty consistently looks like 35 year old James Harden on the second leg of a back to back after playing 44 minutes - just completely immobile.

That seems like a fundamental flaw, giving effort on defense is a thing that even the least-pedigreed player fresh out of the G-league is able to do in the NBA, not a "he'll continue to develop and figure it out" thing. The Rockets cut bait, the Wizards probably will too, as they should. If the NBA was about running straight to the basket and dunking he's be great but it's about a lot more.

 

Then I ask you, why is KPJ still in this league, it is not over until it is over......that is just another road block on his path.

People do not have to get it, this is just about making it as an underdog.

Do I bet on him, hell nope, but this is hilarious, how people want him to fail.....but okay, not my cup of tea.....

Just want him to be a normal role player, is that too much to ask for?

 

Exactly, he is 21, with enormous talent, he is being challenged for the first time, he has to mature, will he get there? Who knows, but if he does, he will be fine.

Took KPJ until 25....but he got there.....hell, Jalen still isn't there.

I never heard from the Rockets side that he had practice issues.....only defensive issues....

We'll never get to hear the full story due to the clandestine nature of organizations running things.

If he is not working out as he should, that is very hard to come back from.

I am BTW back to the next year's draft, couple of Whitmore like prospects but more mature.
