The pressure rate on stroud last night was over 54%, second highest in his career so far. We talked about Stroud not throwing deep enough on that Nico completion that could have been a TD. Orlovsky pointed out Mahomes did that twice last night.
I still can NOT figure out why people want Mills to start!! Mills is LIMITED, good backup but LIMITED.
If Stroud makes that throw... who are you blaming? I pulled this from the Rams game. Exactly same throw although Stroud's was much better as it was a little behind but not as far off the chest as Mahomes was. Keep shoving that agenda Bobby.
I don't blame Caley, I blame Demeco! Other teams have fired OC's for being this inept Mid - Season, why can't he? Everybody can see what and who the problem is, its up to Demeco.....that end around on 3rd down alone is a FIREABLE OFFENSE
Because the witch-hunt against Slowick was in the same calendar year? The bigger mistake was hiring Caley to begin with. And word is this wasn't a Demeco decision. If you want to see how this all plays out, look up "Gary Kubiak/Texans staff refuse to hire an experienced defensive coordinator..."
That was a bad throw in terms of placement. Kelce was running right and Mahomes put it on his left hip, well behind him. It hit Kelce in the hands, but only because he had to literally spin 180 degrees against where he was going. Mahomes made a lot of really bad throws last night.
Our OC ALWAYS gets outcoached. He is subpar, maybe worse than Slowik. Hard to break in a new one at this point, but I would tell him that how he finishes the season will determine his future with the team.
He has Tay Tay so he will be just fine. BTW - the hit that Myles Bryant delivered on Travis was beautiful. He hit him legally and right in the solar plexus. You knew that Kelce was hurt after it happened. One of the best hits that I have seen.
Definitely worse that Slowik. The offense looked good at times under Slowik. It has been good in one game against a decimated Baltimore this year. We average 21 points despite the fact the defense gives the O good field position consistently.
I wouldn't argue the Texans should have lost that game... Give Kansas City those catches and it doesn't change the score - they didn't drop touchdowns. They still had to find ways to move the ball against an elite defense playing out of its mind. And if you want to play the What If... game - the Texans left plays on the field, too. No, the best team deservedly won last night.
Caley can be frustrating (I still cannot believe he called Dare's number in that situation - it worked! But, good lord...) But I don't know how much you can scheme around the line of scrimmage being consistently shoved into your QB's lap. I still think the Texans' biggest issue is talent along the OL; not the OC. Thank the lord for CJ Stroud. He made some Mahomes-like plays last night. Just incredible.
Skipping through the comments. If I didn't know the final score I would swear that we lost. Some folks stayed up too late last night and woke up being a grumpus.
Nor should he. Steve Spagnola is literally one of the 2-3 best defensive coordinators in the entire history of the NFL. Of course Caley was outcoached! Spags has been outcoaching offensive coordinators for DECADES! So I don't think this is the week to make any declarative statements about Caley. He had a few nice moments - enough to squeeze out a win. But he's not going to go up against anyone close to Spags the rest of the way.
We win that game last night, but it appears we haven't a prayer come playoff time. As great as our D is, EVERYTHING except for CJ is working against us on the other side of the ball.
I can't believe it too Caley four drives to adjust to the Chiefs obvious all out blitzing. He couldn't get plays in at the end of the first half, couldn't get a play in after a tv time out and needed to take ANOTHER time out. The defense is carrying this team on its big broad shoulders....if we just had a head coach experienced person to take over the offensive side of the ball...(think Kubiak and Wade Phillips)
