BYU doesn't deserve to make the playoff. They have two losses to the same team and were boat raced by them each time.
Brian Hartline recruits them. He's one of the best ever and is leaving to coach USF after the playoff.
The two best teams in the country just played to a near standstill. Ohio State's loss was to the #1 team; Tech lost to ASU. No comparison. I don't think many people believe Tech is better than Ohio State, so why punish IU with a rematch in the semis?
I cannot believe an IU player is actually going to win the Heisman trophy. Their football program was a complete joke when I was growing up in Indy. Nobody gave it any thought. One time when Lee Corso was coach there, IU went up 3-0 on Ohio State early in a game. He then had a photo taken of him with the scoreboard in the background showing them up 3-0. That photo was in both newspapers the following day and laughed about for a long time. (For the record, they ended up getting clobbered). IU is the Big Ten football champion and the #1 team in the country. So unreal! What a moment. P.S: I'm a Purdue grad but IU football is repping the entire state.
Cignetti just did something completely unthinkable in the NIL era. He took a team full of JMU transfers to the Big 10 title and a #1 seed. It's insane!
The next few hours of toxic shitposting about Alabama, Miami, and Notre Dame is going to be incredible. Honestly, it's all a cluster. Alabama beat Georgia in the regular season and that should mean something. But, they also just got embarrassed by Georgia (and had -3 rushing yards in the game) in a conference title game for their third loss. By that standard, they shouldn't be in. The conferences are too big and their championship games are irrelevant. The whole sport is a disaster right now. But, we're all junkies and can't look away. No other American sport comes close to this level of tribal dysfunction.
Duke won the ACC championship before Miami and UNC. Get those collectors Duke ACCCG shirts cuz it’s gonna be the last time the ACC has one after not getting a team into the CFP 2025.
You're not wrong, and you may disagree, but I think Tech's defense could make either of those offenses look just as bad. Now please don't make me say nice things about Texas Tech anymore.
