I like all 3 of them. Craig seems a little defensive at times, but it’s funny to me. I hope they stay together a while.

Who would you prefer over them?

I haven’t found another pair that I would rather listen to. I’m living in LA now and Ackerman sounds a lot like Bill Macdonald, the current Lakers commentator. I’d say they’re quite similar as well and bring out the energy on big plays. Other commentators are a little too stale for my liking.

I miss those two, I really do, but Bill has retired and I don’t think Calvin would fit with anyone else. Ackerman and Hollins? I wish whoever is in charge of that circus would replace them both. They need a pair closer to the team. Mario Elie doing color would be great. Surely there’s talent in Houston that could do play by play. Somebody! I’ve lived in Austin the last 40+ years and haven’t a clue, Young talent that grew up during the championships that lives and breaths Rockets and took communications at UH? Someone like Bill from a few decades ago.

Craig is solid, Hollins has a new shtick every few games and it’s getting to Bullard’s food talk levels of annoying at times. Also not a fan of “hey hey” after a lot of dunks. He’s a bit trying too hard and actually rarely breaks down plays, he can, but he’s too busy being funny, likeable and just having fun with Craig and Vanessa. And for that reason I cannot hate on the guy.

Should’ve punched harder, at least no “hey hey” there, which ironically makes a lot more sense after someone punches you than a highlight play…

I didn’t know SCHN did peacock games, as well. That’s why we lost; I was listening to the wrong feed.

When I think of Bill Worrell, I think of Dave Ward. Sometimes, I get mix up which is which.

Craig and Vanessa are pros - no complaints about them. I like Hollins but if there was a place to upgrade, he would be it. That being said - I think the Hollins/Craig duo works reasonably well together. Certainly if you watched other team announcers you would see they are in the top 10-15%. It's just Ryan isn't calling the game so much as being a well connected fan sitting next to Craig. Sometimes that's exciting....but sometimes you wish he could muster a bit more than oohs and aahhs.

I never noticed much contention but my games usually muted.

I prefer Worrell but have no problem with Ackerman as his PBP replacement. Hollins is better than he used to be but still sucks. He is not as bad as Drexler but still not good. I would like to see them bring Bullard back to pair with Ackerman. Bullard was by far the best color guy since Murphy.

Robert Horry still lives in Houston (last I heard) and yet Los Angeles snatched him up instead.

When I saw the thread title, I almost didn't want to click. You know, as if there were a heterosexually-challenged scandal.

I'll never understand why people liked Bill so much. He was boring and bland, and... kinda slow. Hardly ever had a remotely interesting thought to share. But had many blatantly wrong ones to share.

Then again, I suppose milquetoast has it's appeal to many people. The same people who claim to love the "colors" white, grey, and black...

The guy I really wish we'd kept around is Bullard. He was GOAT tier.

I loved Bill and all the number 1 picks he brought with him. Bullard kept going on and on about getting flopping and pass and crash fouls out of the game every single time but at least he was better than Clyde Drexler.

We just never got someone of the level of Calvin Murphy to go along with Bill for all this time.

I agree with some of the people who rightly say that they could be a lot worse compared to some around the league. I can never remember if it's Minesotta or Milwaukee, one of those ones. Before i used to pay for league pass, the entire presentation, not just the announce team was so dry and boring i just turned the game off and went to bed because i couldn't find an illegal stream to get our guys. I always think it must be a reflection of local culture, the way they tailor their presentation. I definitely wouldn't go to some of these places lol.

They are not bad. I don't mind them. Listened to the Denver broadcast crew the other night and they make our team seem amazing. I couldn't stand the Denver broadcast team.
