Sorry, but you're a Rockets fan, right? If we took this plunge, nothing of real value should go out with Sengun. Uncle Jeff and Tate with FVV and maybe a jack-s*** first rounder. Lil White Boy stays.

I don't even know if I'm sold on trading Sengun, but he'd likely be the price of this transaction.

Don't have to make a trade though.

I don't think the Bucks get a young player of Amen's status. Rockets should make an offer without Amen, Reed, and Sengun. If Bucks accept, cool. If someone offers more and Bucks say no to Rockets offer, cool.

I wonder what the Hawks and Spurs will do

Atlanta could offer Trae Young, Risacher, and the Pelicans unprotected pick this year…aside from Giannis, Jalen Johnson would be the next highest paid player on the roster at just 30 mil/yr which is an absolute steal…core of Giannis, Johnson, Okongwu, NAW, and Dyson Daniels and use cap space to fill out the rest of the roster…not a contender, but can definitely compete in the East

if I’m the Spurs, Harper is off the table, but I’d offer Castle, Vassell, whatever other salary filler is necessary, and some picks

When I think on it, I don't think we can actually make the salaries work on a deadline trade for Giannis without Sengun

Fred won't agree to it, Jabari is poison pilled, and I don't think we can put together enough salary filler otherwise, can we? Certainly not without gutting the team of all its depth.

I stopped thinking about hypothetical Giannis trades after the KD trade. There's just no point to it since you can't really play Sengun/Giannis/KD together as your default lineup. And Sengun is too good to be traded for Giannis given their respective ages. If the Rockets really want to make a splash it would have to be a perimeter player.

FVV won't agree to go to Milwaukee, but he could be traded elsewhere in the same deal. JSJ's poison pill is smaller than 25% of Giannis' contract, such that Milwaukee can pop that pill and do a square dance without repercussions or whatever they do for fun there. Just matters on finding a place FVV wants to go, send them some SRPs to take FVV to cover this season, and then send matching salary from that team to Milwaukie.

The only young player better than Amen on the Spurs is Wemby. I'd be fine if the Spurs traded Wemby for Giannis.

Now if young players worse than Amen can be traded for Giannis, the Rockets would still be in the bidding. If the Spurs bid enough that they still beat that offer, cool.

Why are we still discussing this? Did yall not see his non contact injury yesterday? That’s exactly what happened to KD and Halliburton before they fully tore their Achilles. He’s damaged goods at this point. Let the spurs trade for him and ruin their future when he tears his Achilles and loses all his athleticism.

Castle and Harper are nowhere near the prospects Alp and Amen are. If they’re off limits, then so is Alp and Amen

Harper is in my opinion 100% a prospect that Amen and Sengun is. How much they are valued as prospects would change team to team. Based on realized talent versus what Harper could become. Castle is a tier or two below in all regards though.

I don't think you can really call Sengun a "prospect" anymore honestly. He's a top 15 player, he has fully arrived, and he's also no longer on his rookie deal.

I'd agree that Harper and Amen are close to the same level as prospects right now and Castle is below.

I haven't been able to watch enough of Harper to have a strong opinion yet but based on the times I've watched him I think Castle is kind of overrated in NBA media world and well below Amen as a prospect right now based on the Spurs games I've caught. He could be extremely good but unlike Amen, I think it's a necessity that he figures out how to shoot to be a high-end top ~30 or better player and I have my doubts that's going to happen.

If it's possible to afford Amen/Giannis/Sengun/Durant then by all means do it. Not sure if 4 big salaries is possible.

I think that would mean trading all the other significant future salaries (Bari, FVV, Adams, Eason, DFS). I would give up all those guys except DFS (his salary is reasonable and he can play a key role).

Bari would struggle for minutes with Giannis/Durant/Sengun all roughly the same size/position as him so it's best for both to trade him. FVV and Adams are late career anyway, that's not a needle moving decision in terms of acquiring a generational talent plus we have solid backups at PG and C already. Eason I'd love to keep but his extension is russian roulette now, could be anywhere between $15m and $30m who knows. I'd prefer to keep DFS' $15m/season reliable contract if I had to decide right now.

Bari + Eason + 2 FRP's + 1 Future Swap + FVV + Adams (perfect rebuild package for Milwaukee including youngsters, picks and mentors)

    for

Giannis + Thanasis + Cole Anthony

    That leaves:

    Sengun/Capela
    Giannis/Thanasis/Green
    Durant/DFS
    Amen/Okogie
    Sheppard/Anthony

Need to shore up the PF and SG spots but that won't cost much. That's a championship roster imo.

I really don"t think trading for Giannis would be a smart move. Plus Amen would have to be involved unless we really just don"t want to space the floor.

Almost nobody on this forum seems to have a clue how great a prospect Harper is.

It would be stupid to break up what we are building for Giannis, 2 years ago, sure, but not now.

Just curious, in a redraft do you take him or Kon at #2? Kon has looked very efficient.

I take Kon at 2, Harper at 3 and Bailey at 4. All of this is very fluid of course and can change in a matter of months as the season progresses. VJ may be better than all 3 in a few months, super stacked top 5 this year.
