That's ridiculous. We didn't lose in Utah because we didn't have Steven. We lost because nobody played hard. We beat Golden State without Adams or KD. Casuals say the Rockets offense is offensive rebounding. The offense is actually elite 3 point shooting off of passing out of doubles on KD and Alpi. The rebounding is why we are elite. If you shoot a high percentage and get offensive boards at the highest clip in the league you are elite. This idea that the team would collapse if we didn't have Adams is one of the stupidest things I have ever heard. So much of that going around lately.
Adams actually only played 17 minutes this game. Adams this year is playing more minutes than last year, but still the 2nd lowest minutes/game of his career since rookie year (both with Houston). And with Capela already used in an Adams platoon. Adams coulda been put back in starting lineup for double bigging in place of Reed, but Ime held back on that. So besides Adam starting first 4 games, seems a bit of conservation efforts Maybe Adams is just that impactful regardless of role & lineup
Amen is playing like Reed is gonna take his bread. Only way I can wrap my mind around how a 20.5% three point shooter looks off Reed to throw up a brick. Him looking off Reed is starting to become a trend.
Never have I loved Tate more. He was a reminder of how everyone else should have been playing. Even Okogie, by his own standards, was slacking.
With Adams, it’s really all about his playoffs readiness. So, if you want Adams in this role during the playoffs, then why not do it in reg season too … to hone our identity. Do you think he”s playing too many minutes?
