The US military conducted lethal strikes against two boats in the eastern Pacific this week, killing all people on board each vessel, according to Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth. The two strikes on vessels in the Pacific — the eighth and ninth known strikes by the US military on alleged drug-smuggling vessels since the start of September — appear to mark an expansion of the US military campaign, with all seven previous strikes targeting boats in the Caribbean Sea.
I bet Trump will keep having our military attack and kill non-combatants. When the rest of The World says "Hey, Stop That!", Trump will respond "Make Me".
I mean shouldn't the tide wash some coke bails to shore I suspect they are packed pretty well. My source is watching Miami Vice and To Live and Die in LA. Prove me wrong.
It's stunning the lengths to which liberals go to protect Venezuelan drug runners. These people are doing great harm to our country and it's youth! Trump is taking action to address the problem. GOOD DAY
Listen Junior, nobody's protecting drug runners. We are, however, trying to protect the rule of law. Running drugs is not a death-penalty offense and of course, it does not justify an extra-judicial killing--no crime does. On top of that, there has been very little evidence presented on some of these strikes and the rationale behind the attacks is flimsy at best. For weeks, they could not point to any law or order that gave them authority to blow up boats in international waters, and when they finally crafted a memo from the Office of Legal Counsel, they kept that secret. Then you have the "double tap" of killing people clinging to debris in the middle of the ocean. If possible, that is an even greater example of absolute clear-cut lawlessness and against every foundational value in this country. (On top of that, it took two more strikes to sink the boat and send evidence of the "crime" to the deep--four strikes to sink a small boat is a great message to send to the world about our Navy's capacity.) In my lifetime, Republicans have politicized things I never imagined would be politicized--torture, public health, climate change--and now we are quickly sinking into having a party divide on war crimes. I don't know how we come back from this kind of thing. The only thing to do is read Robert H. Jackson's opening remarks at the Nuremburg Trials: May similar words be soon be spoken in a court of law.
That post by whoever you follow on twitter is BS. What isn't BS is that you will never hear Trump cry out in outrage about the murder or torture of a victim of hate crimes by white supremacists or MAGA crazies like he does when the perp is illegal, brown skinned, or a far left extremist. All hate crimes are evil. Acknowledge that.
Our government murdered those 2 people. A single individual who is already in jail murdered the other person. Both have questions that need to be asked, but only one will be held accountable.
