Cross-posting from the Euro Basket thread:

Alpi throwing shade on the Greek:

“We just put pressure on him... Giannis is one of the best players in the world, and we just tried to help Ercan, and I think we did a good job,” Sengun added. “He’s an amazing player, but he’s not like a great passer. So, we’re just trying to help and like jump to close the paint.”

Good and it’s exactly why we don’t need a guy like him. He’s just a rim runner with an improved jumpshot. We have enough rebounders, have very limited players on our team so can use all the creators we can have and first need to see what we look like with KD and DFS in the fold.

Just in: Giannis Antetokounmpo and his agent Alex Saratsis have started conversations with the Milwaukee Bucks about the two-time NBA MVP's future – and discussing whether his best fit is staying or elsewhere, sources tell ESPN. A resolution is expected in the coming weeks

yeah I think he’s finally going to force his way out. I think it gets done in the offseason. Would be surprised if Milwaukee gets what they need at the deadline. Giannis is gonna waist another yr of his prime because he wasnt decisive about making the break this past offseason.

If there was ever an all in move........that is currently 31 and 11 in 30 minutes a game on a 60+ fg%

Id give up Amen, Tari, cap filler and our best picks for a Giannis-KD-Sengun-JSJ-Reed core the next few years.

...spurs should consider trading, castle, fox, or harper and picks. makes sense for them imo

We would have to give up one of Sengun or Amen. It’s ballsy and might just work, but I’d rather watch the growth of the young core.

He likely going to the Lakers for Reaves and parts.

If Giannis ends up with the Knicks for KAT and Bridges, I’d be curious to find out the price for taking Bridges off Milwaukee.

I'm sure the Spurs don't want to include Harper, but they would give up Castle and/or Fox in a heartbeat. If the Spurs are on Giannis' list of acceptable teams, they can probably outbid everyone else. Because draft picks would be a large part of the package, he would instantly elevate the them to a Finals contender if Victor returns healthy. The amount of space those two could cover together on defense is crazy to think about.

For the sake of the Rockets, I want him to stay in the Eastern Conference.

It's really tempting but I don't want to give up Amen or Sengun.

This is a tough position to be in and I could see it both ways:
    1. Trade for Giannis and give up a young player to win as much as you can with KD before he's gone.
    2. Or keep the young players and hope for the best now and after KD leaves.

I think SAS is a perfect landing spot for Giannis for all those reasons but since he's spent his entire career toiling in a small market, it seems like a big hurdle. Seems like he wants NY or Cal

We cant afford Giannis ($54M) unless we give up Sengun...I'm sorry, but in no world I can see Sengun averaging 30/10 on 60%. Also, Giannis is only 30 years old and both are the same height.
I say let's make the trade, but it would only happen if FVV waiver his no trade clause. His $25M would make the trade work...theoretically, it would be swapping Sengun for Giannis which is a heck yes!
Also, we would get $7M trade exception to add another contributing player to our team to make us even more competitive...
    Our starting lineup:
    Giannis
    KD
    Jabari
    Amen
    Reed

Giving up Amen would make more sense than giving up Sengun based on overall fit. Having 2 guys who can’t shoot at the end of games would be tough. Giannis is a hard player to fit into most offenses, since we really don’t run a sophisticated system, he would work here. If we could Keep Amen, Sengun and KD, I’d give up whatever else.

Yeah I think when I've looked at this before, it's pretty much only possible in a Sengun +picks/filler for Giannis.

I think you gotta try for it if you are Stone... BUT you gotta think long and hard about it.

The sort of historical nature of this trade would be like the 2011-14 LA Lakers contemplating a trade of Pau Gasol for like Carmelo Anthony or some other superstar wing/guard. Pau was just such a great fit alongside Kobe that you would probably hesitate to make that trade even though you have a chance to extend your ceiling adding that superstar talent.

I think Sengun is like the PERFECT big to play with KD potentially. Sengun however is NOT Giannis. Not really even a question. Its just the question of how good of a fit is Giannis while taking away our big man facilitator who is really our hub on offense. It's not a slam dunk decision IMO... but if KD goes down or declines in the next year or two then at that point its a much easier decision because your dynamic style is going to change regardless.

Trading for Giannis is basically taking a penalty on cashing out one’s 401k and using it to buy Tesla stock at today’s prices…. The stock is going to fall just Giannis peak is about to fall if it hasn’t already started to.
