You can play the triangle offense, it’s literally perfect for this team I just don’t get how they have so nmany unstoppable players and play like it’s LA fitness out there
After 18 games, this game is where the Rockets were out of it for most of the game. Following the current trend of this season, we should only have 5 bad games out of 82 which is still top-tier. j*zz shot 38 FTs and 50 Rebounds, very few teams can overcome those stats and win. j*zz wanted this game more than the Rockets, they committed 31 Fouls which means they are trying to play defense, 23 Fouls last game in which they lost. Ex-Duke players (Kyle Flopski, G.Allen, Kyrie, S.Battier, C.Laettner) are tough guys, a tough guy in KF committed hard fouls against Sengun. We cried to the ref instead of responding. Dillon Brooks would of not cried to the refs, he would of at least show his presence. I'd be pizzed today, if Nukkets, or Lakkers won last night.
If we grabbed 3 more offensive rebounds, we would have a good chance winning this game. Tate did his best at his Steven Adams impersonation. But it's just not enough.
While the Rockets shouldn’t have been in a position to where it mattered so much, I still think it’s insane that there were five fouls called in favor of the Jazz in less than a minute on one offensive possession. I’ve never seen that before.
I guess you didnt read the last paragraph? The only place for Middie is the last resort on offense. When the game plan is get an open middie for KD and the opponent is shooting 39% from 3 thats a guaranteed loss every time. We shouldnt ban middies like Morey did but at the same time it shouldnt be the focus of the offense because its called the worst shot in basketball for a reason. Our over reliance on middies and shooting the least 3s means the defense has to be elite every time or we just get buried by opponents on 3s and more efficient scoring. There has to be a shift where 3s and Alpi posts are the main options and then middies are the very least amount of shots Rox take. Getting blown out by a tanking team like Jazz should be a wake up call this middie offense is wack.
Sengun lowkey had a phenomenal game on offense and Amen had a pretty good game on both ends. KD and all of the roleplayers (except Tate, who was actually decent for once) shot below their season averages, though KD did still rack up 32, 9, and 5 in the process. I thought Jabari was going to have a good shooting night when he knocked down a couple of shots early, but then he got smacked in the face to the point of getting checked in the locker room and coming back with a black eye, and that seemed to throw his shot off for the rest of the game. Overall, our poor 3P shooting was part of the problem, but on balance I think the offense was decent. I think the biggest issue was just that we let the J*zz drop 133 on us. The defense was unacceptable, Utah has one of the worst offenses in the league. I guarantee Ime is pissed about it and chewing them out. The late officiating was also bizarre. We had a chance to win it at the end, but I swear it felt like the refs had money on the game. As @dc rock said, I've just never seen anything like that in my life.
Adams is on pace to post a +/- of over +600 it's wild to think he is probably the single most important piece in if we win a game or not and all he plays is 22 minutes a game.
Rockets shot fewer 3's than Utah in the first game. The difference is we made more and out-rebounded them by 17. This isn’t a middie issue. It's effort.
if rockets dont win the rebounding game it's a wrap. second chance points is a huge part of the offense. Steveo is the franchise player.
Let's not make "rocket" science out of it: Rockets lost because they allowed the Jazz to shoot 50%/40% and take 38 FTs. It's really that simple. When a terrible team torches a very good defensive team it's because of lack of effort and energy. At least they fought back within one point down the stretch, but then they relaxed and reverted back to lazy form and the Jazz extended the lead again. I don't think there is a lot to pick apart. 1 KD's 5 mins of hero ball was pure stupidity. That is not the sword that should be sharpened right now. 2 On the bright side, it was good to see Tate's ankle not hindering him. They'll need his minutes until Tari returns and DFS is activated. 3 Everyone should be reminded that Holiday cannot be a consistent rotation player. He's best in 2-3 game doses.
Yeah basically. They damn sure can't shoot poorly AND get out-rebounded. Rockets didn't even shoot well from 3PT on Sunday and still won by 30. They took Utah lightly next game, then ended up down 20 points, then had to scrap a comeback where a few fouls could effect the outcome. Wasted game and still 1-4 vs top 4's.
There’s no ****ing reality where a coach should still be employed after this. But he pins it on Reed who before this game gave it all on both ends of the floor This is malpractice and I’m tired of people defending Fraudoka here. If he can’t make a player bricking 80% of the teams shot attempts stop.. what good does it have to have him coach
