It just frustrating watching iso after iso. They have all the parts to be an offense that moves the ball more, they just dont. I get we have KD and Sengun who are great iso players but I get so tired of isos while everyone watches. Amen and Reed can be dynamic players and you have three really good passers in the starting lineup and they just kinda dont utilize it at all
Well I agree, Reed should be put in these situations good or bad... at this point he's done enough to have that. Why expect Holiday to be clutch all the time... if that were the case he wouldn't be on our bench.
The Rockets went back to their identity without KD. The defense was top 5. Now they’re regressing back again giving up large scores and open threes again.
They'll naturally figure some of it out but the coaching staff needs to realize that just because KD is a great iso scorer doesn't mean thats the ONLY way he needs to get the ball. Save that for late game just need a tough buckets situations. I'd argue the majority of his shots shouldn't come in isolation. Especially not at his age. He is having to work really hard for most of his shots
You can't play Durant on back to backs. Designate him "old" and take the fine. He has a mother. Geesh, Ime.
If the rockets gave durant a day off after back to backs, the rockets probably would have won this game.
KD is having to work too hard, he should be on the end of the action where he is shooting, not creating the shot too, it is too much for a 37 year old player night in and night out. We need so much more movement on offense - and defense.....double big sucks, but it is a matchup you can play when the other team does it and we didn't match up. Not to mention Zone has to be used in spurts - no more than 4 mins 5 max at a time - too many open 3s and poor rebounding. DD
Ime doesnt know how/has no interest in running plays for Reed as a starter. Reed can be dynamic, but he has looked best when he’s running the offense and getting into the lane and finding teammates, getting his middy, draining 3s, etc. As a starter, he’s posted up in the corner 80% of the time, in case someone finds him (which oddly enough, they never seem to.. despite his shooting). It’s tough with the big 3 out there, but maybe this is why Reed should come off the bench. Having him sit in the corner is a huge waste of his talent, IMO. Either figure out a way to include him when the big 3 are out there, or bring him off the bench and let him run the offense. … and there’s absolutely no reason holiday needed 32 minutes with his 3/10 shooting. I understand he gave some spark when he came in early in the 3rd, but then he played the rest of the game. If we’re trying to develop Reed, you have to develop him. I understand he was getting targeted defensively, but getting like 3 second half minutes is poor coaching. He hit a 3 and Ime was like… come join me on the bench for the next hour.
I think the majority of people here are in agreement that ime makes some of the most questionable calls/ subs in the league. I still don’t understand why on earth reed barely played the second half and why Durant is playing 40 minutes on back to back? Very very odd
1-4 vs Top 4 seeds.. Only win is against #4 (Raptors) Games like tonight show evidence the Rockets are too young this season for a championship. They need a deep playoff run, then maybe next year. And maybe if OKC ceases to exist.
We smoked them in game one they came out as the aggressors in game two. We had a shot at the end, oh well. It’s basketball. On to the next.
