I'm pretty sure Mills could manage the same 0 TD's Stroud got, maybe he doesn't throw a pick.

We need Stroud to bounce back and actually be a competent QB to go anywhere, but that's not what he was yesterday, which is why this is even a conversation.

Stroud is a high variance player, Mills is a mediocre game manager. A good game from Stroud will be better than the best game from Mills but a bad game from Stroud will likely be worse than what you'd get from Mills.

When you're getting 0 TD's and 1 interception from Stroud, it's valid to think you might do better with someone else.

Are you really such a simpleton and so reductive that your criteria for how he performed is how many TDs he threw?

He threw a long pass to Nico that would’ve been a TD but Nico stepped out at the 5 and then they ran for a TD. You fault CJ for that? So if Nico doesn’t step out then CJ was “competent”? They ran for a TD with Chubb, how terrible that our incompetent QB allowed them to call a run there and drove us down that far.

Did you even actually watch the game? Obviously not if you didn’t think he was a “competent QB”. Like legitimately laughable.

And to be clear, nobody is “having this conversation”, you are just spouting nonsense.

Yes. Yes, he is. Not worth anyone's time to respond.

LOL, are you really trying to claim CJ had a good performance? Did you even watch the game? Stroud was all over the place, he could have easily thrown at least 2 more interceptions than he did if we want to play the "what if" game.

It's clear the team didn't trust him both at the end of the half and the end of the game, and they had no reason to.

Despite the Colts missing their top DB, the hero of the game and the ONLY reason the Texans pulled off a win was the defense.

I don't know how this guy became a sacred cow to so many of you, but his performance has done nothing but decrease ever since his rookie season....but we're just supposed to ignore that and keep praising him for the actions of others. It's wild.

I'd love it if CJ Stroud returned to the caliber of player he was as a rookie, but he simply hasn't been close to that. I just wish you'd be honest.

A Solid WIN, I don't care if its ugly or not a win against the AFC South leader is a huge WIN. CJ had some rust but shook it off and looked good in the second half. I really liked that we were able to answer each time they scored. Huge props to Daniel Jones, dude has a broken bone and gutted it out. The D is often times a bend don't break mentality and it makes my blood pressure go sky high at times and we definitely got some break from the refs and what about the point after on the last TD, was that really good? Hell of a stretch for this team, I don't think we beat KC but I do think we could run the table after that game.....................from 0-3 to 7-5 is dam impressive, but man if we could have been 1-2 to start we would be in the drivers seat.......coulda woulda shoulda

TD's and INT's don't define good or bad QB play all the time.

Stroud was fantastic outside the over throw. Mills got away with a ton of turnover worthy plays in his 3 starts but played well for a backup.

He made several second and third reads on 3rd and long to move the ball.

Ball doesn't get tipped in drive 1 to Schultz, its a TD as its a great read. Nico doesn't step out of bounds which he did due to trying to run by a guy that he already had the angle on, thats a TD.

Texans run the ball 4x to stall for no points in Colts redzone.

I can't take people serious that are putting up TD stats as the barometer. You have every former player discussing the game say he played really well but were pushing some weird agenda again.

The Stroud hate watching that you are doing is tiresome.

Random clutch fan poster's take disagrees with most of the fan base and most former player talking heads.

Easily thrown more interceptions is your take... yet so quick to give Mills praise when he had several TO worthy plays in his starts.

You are just a miserable hate watcher lol.

It's okay if a nuanced discussion is over your head, maybe go back and read it again and see if you can follow along because your take on it is embarrassing.

    @Bobbythegreat

Before you come with the same talking point about how I defend him over and over again.

    I remain objective.

    You are a hate watcher.

Your take is the same as people that just pay attention to fantasy football stats.

This whole conversation is out of your league. You have made your choice. If people don't agree with your agenda than it's embarassing.

Your ego is ****ing wild lol.

The fact that you are throwing a b**** fit over criticism suggests you are the furthest thing from objective. You are deep into your feelings about this so just take a step back and try to understand what I was saying

I think we beat KC on their home field. I agree, not probable, but very possible.

Not even to mention how Mills went into Tennessee who was 1-8 and the worst team in the league and he had a 37.4 QBR. 16 points vs a 1-8 team.

Not to mention Stroud was out for almost a month and it was his first game back. It’s so crazy to me how people can spew a narrative that just doesn’t make sense.

There’s not one football expert who would start Mills over Stroud. Yet we have “fans” who spew that narrative that Mills would be better than Stroud.

Or if they walk the fence and won’t come out and say Mills should start, they’ll be passive aggressive and root for Stroud to fail. So extremely weird to me.

He was ok yesterday. He's fallen off a cliff from where he was a couple years ago when we thought he was good.

He’s just trolling to get attention. It’s his MO. There is nobody with a brain that would prefer Mills over Stroud.

I genuinely can’t believe this is a topic of conversation after a win against the Colts.

I really don’t care how it looked, this team has put themselves in position.
