Does anyone have faith in Ka’iminoeauloameka’ikeokekumupa’a Fairbairn? Frankly, he scares the sh+! out of me. He is iffy beyond 50yrds and shaky everywhere else And with Demeco playing conservative football, the Texans may have a kick in the Playoffs that comes down to him.
I like him. He's one the better kickers. But there should be rules in general when facing the Chiefs in KC. If it's not ending the half or the game, don't kick anything over 40 yards.
He's 10th in FG% with the most FGA in the league, hasn't missed a kick under 50 (5/8 from 50+) and hasn't missed an extra point. I'm perfectly ok with this.
He's one of the best kickers in the league and has been his entire career. Anyone questioning him is dumb. Having a consistent kicker for a decade is a huge plus.
Echo most of the responses. If I were to nitpick, I'd say he needs to stop trying to kick it over tge uprights on PATs and make sure he can execute the call when kicking off.
What's weird is that we signed Chris Boswell as an UDFA in 2014 but stuck with Fat Randy instead. Boswell is 6th all time in accuracy. I think people don't realize that kickers are much better today than they've ever been. Almost all of the all-time accuracy leaders are current players. But if they only make 90% of their kicks, they suck.
The kicking revolution has sparked questions about whether the balls are juiced. Not quite, but there is a major difference this year, with teams now having the chance to prepare kicking balls before game day and practice with the same balls they use in games. The added length that gives kickers had Philadelphia defensive coordinator Vic Fangio comparing it to the home run explosion during baseball's steroid era starting in the late 1990s.... [Brandon] Aubrey said he believes the biggest change is the more consistent balls providing more peace of mind. "The nice part about the rule is now you get to the point where you don’t have to think about the balls," he said. "You don’t have to be, ‘Is this ball going to be in good shape or not?’ Now it’s, ‘OK, the balls are going to be what they’re supposed to be.’" https://www.foxsports.com/stories/n...ver-and-the-balls-could-be-part-of-the-reason https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/...s-admit-rule-change-adding-distance-to-kicks/
